I think it's a good idea. that the driver with most wins in the season wins the title though.

Pretty boring when a driver is sitting in second place, just needing a podium to win the title.

I see Ron Dennis has moved 'upstairs' at McClaren too.

Ecclestone is becoming more and more a comedy figure. High time he f***ed off.

And it will be pretty boring seeing 5th-20th all coast it to the finish in realisation that they will be getting crap all from the race. If these plans are introduced, you can say goodbye to interesting battles down the field. Why would 7th and 8th battle it out for a position with 20 laps left under the proposed rules? What are they going to acheieve?

Sports sports sports!
To be honest Massa deserved to win the championship more than Hamilton.
He made mistakes, but he missed out on two wins because Ferrari f***ed up their car and pitstop.
And he didn't crash into the back of somebody at a f***ing red light. And didn't moan every single moment of every day because he wasn't getting his own f***ing way.

Ecclestone is just saying what the vast majority of Formula 1 fans are actually thinking.

If these proposals are made, then it would ruin Formula One. Ecclestone needs to be sacked, because he is making a great sport a laughing stock.

he cant be sacked he owns F1!

I love it whe people who clearly understand nothing about the subject they are commenting on make such hilarious statements.

After his recent insane ramblings about his proposed changes to the points scoring system, I think it's clear that he's suffering from the ravages of age. Give the guy a break, senility isn't fun for anyone, the poor old fella doesn't know what he's talking about most of the time. It's only Sepp Blatter who seems to be able to hold a conversation with him, that's how bad he's got.

Could the points system not still be used but make the difference between 1st and 2nd significantly higher ie. 15 to the winner 10 to the 2nd then 9 to 3rd etc. This would mean that as in Massa case winning 6 races agauinst 5 Hamilton would have had to have beaten him in every other race virtually to have won the title to make up the extra points.

As have the race stewards at most Grand Prix the last couple of seasons, especially as most of their decisions seem to be heavily in favor of Ferrari, which cost Hamilton 2 seaons ago, and nearly cost him last season, without the dodgy rulings, Hamilton would have won more races than Massa and still have been champion. - these comments just confirm the suspicion that F1 is bias towards Ferrari.

Why change a points system and rules governing the cars when we have had one of the most interesting and watchable seasons in a long time, with more different GP race winners, and a very close finish to the title race?

Belgian Grand Prix. Massa's dangerous pitstop at Valencia. Two races where Massa was handed a win by highly dubious stewarding decisions - they're the reason he won more races than Lewis last year and so apparently 'deserves' the championship.
