You are absolutely NOT a genius for trying to take a penalty like that, whether it ends up going in or not. With Mansfield having already missed their first pen, he simply HAD to put that one away. Pissing about with training ground party tricks at that moment, with such a huge responsiblity on his shoulders, was arrogant stupidity on a breathtaking scale.
His oversized ego has cost Mansfield dear - if ANY Albion player had tried that on in a shootout, I'm not sure I could ever forgive them. An honest miss, blaze over the bar or whatever, you just have to say fair enough and take it on the chin. But to miss like that just trying to be cocky and flash....thats unforgivable.
