Jason Lewry is set to return ahead of schedule to boost Sussex's Championship challenge against Essex tomorrow.
The left-armer has recovered from the rib muscle injury he suffered five weeks ago and is expected to share the new ball with Billy Taylor at Colchester.
It is a welcome boost for the county who are five points behind leaders Surrey after reeling off their seventh win of the season against Lancashire on Sunday.
Lewry replaces Paul Hutchison who will play for the second XI against Surrey at Hove today.
Sussex (probable): Montgomerie, Goodwin, Cottey, Adams, Ambrose, Martin-Jenkins, Prior, Davis or Yardy, Mushtaq Ahmed, Lewry, Taylor.
