For his 2-goal performance against Charlton at the weekend, Dunk has been included in the FIFA team of the week this week, giving him an in-form card on ultimate team -

I have no idea what any of this MEANS, but well done Lewis, anyway :clap2:

Just means he gets an upgraded card released in packs (you can trade the cards with other players and play matches with them) for a limited period of time due to his performance in real life. Only 2 Brighton players have achieved it this year so it's a pretty good achievement :)

What's his rating originally? It's a shambles his in form is only 69. He should be 69 to start and 71-72 in form. On his day he is as good or better than Upson who was 71-72 last year.

Is that supposed to be an explanation? It failed if so.

Whats cards?
What players can you trade with? Could you trade Dunk to Ince for KLL and play a game with Ince when he has Dunk and you have KLL?

This is all very confusing.

For those who haven't played FIFA, it's a cross between a computer game and a top trumps. Each player is represented by a card and the card has various stats on it. You can make a team up of any cards which you own and play online against other players, and you can trade cards with other players (either directly or by buying and selling in the market for 'fifa coins'). You can also spend real money to buy packs of cards.

To keep their revenue stream going the game producer had to dream up some way of making people want to continue to buy packs so every week they release a few cards with better-than-the-original stats, depending on who they deem has performed well that week. These are what they call the "in-form" cards. That's it, really.

Seeming nobody seems to be able to explain what this means I'll give it a go.*

Ultimate Team is a game mode on FIFA, where instead of playing as a real team you create your own by collecting packs of virtual cards. These cards contain everything you need to make your own team, from stadiums and kits through to players, coaches and managers. The idea is you start with a team of bronze rated players (L1/L2 level.) and slowly build your way up to a gold rated team full of the footballing elites. This is done by playing matches with your team, where your performance is rewarded with virtual coins which are used to either buy more packs of cards or buy players off of other real-world gamers via a giant card marketplace. Think of it as a cross between a Video Game and Sticker Collecting.

However, EA are money-hungry whores so over time they have added a tonne of features which are for the sole purpose of making them even more money. Packs of cards can be purchased with real money, so if you don't want to build your team up slowly, you don't have to. Every player has to have a contract, giving them a finite amount of games before you lose them forever, unless you have a contract card to give them which ramps up the need to be buying the Packs of Cards.

One of their newer ways of getting people to part with their cash is with a "team of the week". 18 players who have had an excellent game in the real world are giving a new card with slightly better stats. They are randomly scattered through the packs of cards for a week, but are extremely rare. Once their week is over, that card will never appear in a pack again, making them even rarer. Sadly, there are people out there who are willing to spend £20 or £30 on virtual cards so that they'll eventually get a slightly faster version of Lionel Messi or a slightly stronger Xavi. This week, Dunk is one of the 18 players who have been chosen for a slight upgrade.

Hope that helps, because whilst writing it I realised it's a f*cking hard thing to explain.

*Turns out I just completely missed the person who'd already explained it.
