He's still got every chance of getting in the squad before the world cup and during what could be quite an exciting time for England. As a post on the Spurs v Real Madrid game thread mentioned, we should fill the side with Spurs and Man City players and with a couple of other additions we could have a very decent side:

Butland;
Walker, Stones, Cahill, Rose;
Dier, Winks;
Sterling, Alli, Rashford;
Kane.

Dunk has more games than Gomez and is part a statistically meaner defence. Lofus-Cheek is playing for the team bottom of the PL and didn’t make the squad for either of your wins this season. Abraham I can understand getting a call up as he’s scoring goals in a poor side, but let’s face it Gomez has only got his call up because he’s a Liverpool player and Lofus-Cheek cause he’s on loan from Chelsea.

Can play either full back or centre back. CB is his preferred position though.

Players from the top six clubs will always be fast tracked into the England setup, the fact is there was no way a Brighton player was going to get in the England team after playing 10 PL games, as much as he deserves to..

Surly that's not the criteria of how players are picked though. They must see him in a roll similar to which he played in the U21s, Southgate knows the player which must help. Dunk plays in a team which at the moment plays as a very tight unit often on the back foot making the 2 center backs the mainstay of the team...hopefully England wont plan to play that well. Dunk may well get a chance later on and I wouldn't rule him out for a place next year.

On Hart, one game does not make him good. He is letting in 40.4% of shots on target. Even the shite your mob have in goal is doing better than that, Hennessey with 38.6% and Speroni with 40%.

Hart is terrible now and should be nowhere near being England's number one.

Maty Ryan is at 28.2% by the way.

Loftus Cheek involved who's currently part of the worst team in the top 5 English leagues and Gomez who's in because he plays for Liverpool, no matter how much potential he may have, Liverpool seem to be an absolute basket case at the back. Do Brighton not have a better defensive record than them and one of their players in involved in the squad?

Well, that's badly informed. Benevento in Italy's Serie A have lost all 11 games so far.

I agree about Gomez, he's only in the squad because he's an Englishman playing for Liverpool.

I mean, we all know how good he is. But he is still cutting his teeth at this level. I don't think we can be OUTRAGED that he hasn't been called up at the first time of asking. Give it a while. If he keeps playing like this he'll be there in no time.
