Lewis Dunk - Disabled Fans?

The 2-0 sign may have been mistaken for a jibe at a serviceman that had had his fingers blown off, or against a <mod edit. No thanks> that has one hand with a sort of claw and no fingers on the other........Or it could be that Dunk was getting abuse and just mentioned the actual score?

Disabled people can be ********s too. They were probably giving him abuse and he just went 'Shhhh'. It's notr like leeds are ****ing angles is it? Not often that I post in support of Brighton players but I really can't see any professional footballer of any kind going out of his way to mock someone on their disability. If he did then he would be banned for quite some time. Like all of you I suspect he was getting some abuse and just signalled the score, which I think everyone with a brain can agree is fair enough.

Mocking disabled fans about their disability would be quite another matter and I'm sure that didn't happen.

With all due respect, was this even worth a thread? The amount of bollocks that is spouted on twitter in my limited experience is an absurd amount, I'd have thought if there was any truth in it whatsoever a lot of Leeds fans would be up in arms instead of one bloke.

For a bit of balance to this debate - during the players pre-match warm up last night KLL was doing some shooting practice and blazed several shots high and wide of the practice goal - and well wide of the protective netting too. Apart from not being a particularly good omen for the Albion ahead of the kick off, one of these wayward shots fizzed straight into the mobility area half way up the stand and hit a lady sat in a mobility scooter. She understandably looked quite shocked as I'm not sure that she saw it coming or able to take avoiding action. The stewards and a first aider briefly attended to her.

Due to the layout of the stand etc there was no way that KLL could get close enough to say 'sorry' if he wanted to, but was aware of the mishap and I noted that at least he repeatedly made a point of waving towards her and acknowledging his error by gesturing to her in what seemed an obviously apologetic manner. She did not respond, but her carer appeared to.

I hope the lady concerned did recover ok. Maybe it also helped KLL rediscover his shooting boots for that great free kick.

A reminder that wayward footballs hitting spectators used to be a more common occurrence in the days before the introduction of the protective netting during players warm ups. I can recall witnessing a few sickening impacts into spectators in the old North Stand at The Goldstone, a very painful experience especially with old style footballs of the 60's and 70's. You ignored the players warm up at your peril back then.

A reminder that wayward footballs hitting spectators used to be a more common occurrence in the days before the introduction of the protective netting during players warm ups. I can recall witnessing a few sickening impacts into spectators in the old North Stand at The Goldstone, a very painful experience especially with old style footballs of the 60's and 70's. You ignored the players warm up at your peril back then.

I went to see England B play at QPR in the early 90s and took a ball straight on the swede. It was during the warm up and I was talking to a friend, turned around when I heard a fuss and saw (for what seeemed like an eternity) a ball sailing straight at me. It smacked me square on the forehead and left me rather dazed and then headachy for the rest of the evening. A programme stall once fell on my head at Wycombe as well. I had to have treatment for that.
