Palace have been superb at Selhurst this season, obviously it hurts to lose to them, but with the injuries we never stood a chance today. With a new striker we'll finish top 6 this season no doubt.

And to be fair Palace have been very lucky with injuries thus far - our squad is pretty limited overall.

West, West, West Sussex.
Another positive is our Stadium is even better than I thought it was! Went to the beam-back today in the east stand hospitality area. WOW! Plus there were builders there working on the North-West corner and there are now seats on the south stand balcony.

Tomorrow , as usual we will wake up as Brighton fans. Take pity on the poor bastards from SE25 , they will still be Palace fans.

You don't get to beat too many good teams -- and Palace are a good team -- when you're a man down.

Or as Gus said: "You come here to play a nice game of football against your biggest rival away from home and the least you want is a normal game."

This particular outing can't be assessed as if it were a normal game.

Hang this one on Dunk, not Barnes, or CMS, or any of the usual salad-bar of scapegoats.

I'm not downbeat at all, after walking to Selhurst Park from Thornton Heath station and then finding myself in 1983 as I entered the turnstile it highlighted to me how far ahead of palace we are in every department. So they won their cup final today, I can take that on the chin no problem it's just the one game and they have the bragging rights til march but I can't wait to get back to the Amex and Brighton.

Pissed at 90 minutes but now over that, I know we are better than today and with 11 v 11 it would have been completely different. Come January I expect to see changes up top with players both in and out

I'm downbeat in as much as I never, ever, EVER want to lose to Palace, let alone get gubbed, let alone get deservedly gubbed.

But it will pass. At times like this you have to look at the big picture. We've had Gus for three years and shot up the league since then. So long as we look like we are progressing I am going to be a happy man. Progressing at this level, when competition for every league place is so fierce, was never going to be easy but that's fine. I'm loving life in the Championship and isn't it a great thing that our worries are fixed on the top half of the table rather than the alternative.

Give Palace their due. They did a job on us today. Roll on March and a 30,000 gate and we'll see what happens next.

Was thinking that on way back to station, at least I get to go home, those wankers have to live there :)

and how many penalties have Palace had this season? Must be something close to a record, surely?

Thirteen, twelve of which in the league.

This was exactly what I told my son he was gutted at the end of the game once I explained that they had to wake up in Croydon whilst we could return and wake in Sussex he had a smile back.

This was reminiscent of the Southampton game last season with penalties and Tanno being sent off. We recovered from that & I hope we do the same when back at the Amex.

it highlighted to me how far ahead of palace we are in every department.

Come on Mr Fifth Column. Better ground...yes, numerically more fans attending matches at the moment...yes. But in every department? First team squad? Academy?
