So people are talking about him moving on. In what way is this positive. Let's not forget the good times Knight has given this club, taking us to the championship due to the structure he put in place and also the stadium, which by the way is now being built.....

Whilst I am certainly not suggesting we should dispose of Dick Knight, I don't think his actions of yesteryear should leave him immune from criticism or give him the job for life. It is a weak argument and he should be judged on the now.

What 'crime' has he committed? If people think that DK makes all the decisions at the Albion they are living in cloud cuckoo land. Money talks, and the money comes from Tony Bloom, if he wanted Michael Jackson to be manager then we'd be coming out at Withers to the sounds of 'Thriller'.....and probably be trying to sign Bas again.

Has anyone who has been slaughtering DK lived their whole lives without making mistakes at work, even well intentioned ones?

He does deserve some heavy criticism yes, mindless abuse no. There are people here who call him a liar, what exactly has he lied about ?

He's a human he made a mistake he will know that and he has accepted that but lets forgive the guy afterall even though it was a long time ago he did save our football club and without him who knows where we might be?

Read it again Gents. Where did I say anything about Dick Knight having committed a crime or guilty of lying? I am a staunch supporter of his, but do not think it is wise to harp on about him saving the club as the only supporting condition of his tenure.

Some of the criticism Knight gets on here is unfair, but assuming we go down, this will be the 2nd relegation in 4 years and, symbolically, we'll be back at the bottom of the footballing pyramid. So I think it's only right that his chairmanship comes under scrutiny.

A very good litmus test for whether he is up to the job will be what happens immediately after the final game. How long will we wait before we the managerial position is clarified? How long will we wait before we start offloading the dead-wood and getting in better players? Because if there is no news on this very early on, general unhappiness will soon turn into very serious discontent.

Player contract decisions (aka clearing out the deadwood) are usually announced pretty much straight after the season has ended. Regarding the current manager's position, I suspect (without knowing) that we will get an early answer.

Regarding getting new players, there is rarely much transfer activity anywhere between the end of the season and 1st July (about the time when players report back for training), and there's often a wild flurry of activity during August.

This is very true that people seriously over-estimate DK's authority which has clearly been diminished by Bloom's growing influence. However, ultimately, Knight is the front man. If we was the chairman of a public company that was delivering a sub-standard product, he would face the music from shareholders and the general public. As others have said, Knight must front up and explain why he thinks things have gone so very badly wrong and what he's going to do to put it right.

Nobody said you did but this is being said by other people on other threads and when all is said and done, what's the justification ?

Fair enough, but there's a difference between criticism and abuse. Does anyone honestly think he appointed managers who he wanted to be unsuccessful, anymore than the managers themselves recommended players who, with the benefit of hindsight, have proven to be substandard?

The stadium by all accounts is going well but surely you can't expect the lack of direction at board level (note not just DK) since Mark McGhee went to go uncriticised?

I'd go along with that.

I think people are just getting fed up with the personal abuse that is coming from that same little band of mentally challenged halfwits on here, the argus board and the phone in

The manager's position is key, because until this is clarified, nothing much can be done with the squad. Personally, I think we badly need continuity. Slade knows the players and their limitations and probably gives us the best chance of coming straight back up. I stand by a comment I made after the Yeovil game which is that it would be better if the players knew that it is Slade who will be determining their future in the summer.

I would hope that those that accuse him of lying would at least have the guts to do something about it. Instead we get the backbiting from the likes of cjd...........(mad cow disease) and bhadeb (mad cow), when they had the perfect opportunity to ask him questions at the Fans Forum? Did they? No.

Agreed. The abuse is bang out of order.

Perhaps they do. Who knows?

it really gets on my goat the ridiculous unsubstantiated 'facts' that these alleged fans spout. They seem to forget that these are people with lives & families and feelings. I'd love to see what these little pricks are like in real life. I have a feeling that most of them are nastly little shits..

I fully support knight, but I am worried about crowds being about 5000 in the first season there.
