Paintings of Jesus on the other hand were mainly painted by white Europeans and therefore painted as a white man instead of being Jewish.

Who says he is? Jesus is often depicted in the style of the people the painting is for. E.g.:

You tend to see Jesus as white as you are in a majority white environment. Cultures have always adopted Jesus as one of their own kind, which is how it should be.

I think we all understand that what she meant was that Jesus is often protrayed as a western European type rather than swarthy mediterranean type. You will note she said "white Europeans." Anyway, loads of Jewish people are darker skinned than either Michael Jackson or Dwayne and they're both black.
