West is BEST
Couple of other notable places;

Dome cinema - beautiful and amazing value.

G-Lite - superb Italian cafe / restaurant. The Cannoli in there? To die for, darlings.

Brew Bar on the beach. Lovely spot for a summer ale.

I cycle to Worthing at least twice a week from Shoreham (weather permitting).

Since retiring around 5 plus years ago Worthing has totally thrived and is really a very good place with excellent eating places and shops.

Our favourite is Cucinetta but there are loads of good places to eat and drink to suit all tastes and genres.

I was in Worthing yesterday and was impressed with a shop that sold pies - and very little else. A nice bit of scran while we waited for our dog to be allowed to leave the vets

What job were you doing that caused so many issues for Worthing?

Our go to place for the cinema these days. We’ve got two more booked coming up. One cost £11 and the other £9 - for 2 of us 👍

Err ... just realised it's the Connaught we go to. Great there are two decent options in Worthing for movies at great value prices. You can keep places like the Odeon in Brighton.

I was in Worthing for a dentist appointment yesterday. Had caught the train in and was a little early - so got a few steps in walking around the shopping area. Walked past Greggs … a chap came out with a pastie. He took one bite and that was it. Bloody seagull swooped down and took it straight out of his hands. Poor old boy. Was hard to keep a smile off my face though when he was telling me it was the last one in the shop

Grew up in Worthing and couldn't wait to get away. Lived in Brighton for a bit and then moved back just after the first lockdown and it's a much nicer place.

Part of that is probably just because I'm older now and appreciate the relative peace and quiet but the place just feels a bit fresher.

It's be lovely if someone could figure out what to do with the enormous concrete pit that used to be Teville Gate, but that's my only gripe.

Mum and Dad moved to Worthing while I was at Uni - lived at home with them for a few months after graduating until I found a job and moved away.
Hated every minute of it - unfriendliest place I ever lived in!

Were all worried about the pier at the.moment..
We had this discussion last night, we’ve got a bad feeling about it especially given it’s early autumn ..

Worthing was mostly for me, the annoying place that always had rush hour tailbacks that we had to get through on my commute to Chichester from Brighton.

Do remember about 40 years ago spending the evening at the Fountain pub as a mate‘s band had a gig there - our leather trousers and hard drinking didn’t go down very well with the locals who were a little bemused by our presence and rather unfriendly  We went down to the beach at some point and I just remember a horrendous stink of putrid seaweed.

Attractive town seaside though with some lovely victorian properties.

We need some spring tides before they can work on it apparently. Luckily the council had programmed some maintenance in for next month

I used to cycle to Worthing for work until 6 years ago and haven't cycled back since. I've visited a couple of times for beer and the pubs are certainly better than they were.
