Leon Knight doing a Rivaldo

No idea if this has been discussed on here yet. Was it just my take on it or did the little fella go down holding his face in a Rivaldo-esque manner when in fact he'd taken a slight push to the chest area?

(Second half, in the corner when he had a throw)

Was on the half way line so didn't have an ideal view. Seems I judged him (unfairly it seems) by reputation, as the ref did too...

I think Leon was getting a bit of heavy treatment yesterday including a few choice comments from Wise from the dugout.

He was caught in the face, the defender was flying his arms about trying to wind him up. The fact is that if referees aren't going to protect him, what else is he supposed to do ?

I think Leon has been doing a bloody good job recently at winding up the opposition. Did anyone else see that "come and get me" guesturing to the opposition in the first half when two or three players were trying to get the ball off him ?

We should be proud to have such a spirited talent in the team.

His "petulance" is starting to work in our favour. Carry on Leon.

I was right in line with it - the guy pushed Leon in the upper chest and his hand then sort of slipped upwards and did catch him in the face. Leon then seemed to wait a bit before going down and staying face down on the ground for some time. I felt as though his reaction was maybe even in response to the crowd. I was generally unimpressed and I dont think it enamoured Leon any further with Wendy.

Saying that though I thought he was treated very harshly in general by the officials and that perhaps explains the reaction on this occasion - I also thought he played bloody well.

Didn't see anything yesterday, but certainly one of the West Ham players did something similar in their game at Leeds yesterday after being shoved in the back.
Yeah saw that too. One of the players was on all fours and pushed his head into the other guy's ribs who promptly went down holding his face. Thought Leon just got caught in the eye as both players pushed each other away.

It seemed like he over reacted in that situation, but I thought Leon had a really good game, and worked very hard. He was causing Millwall quite a few problems.

That was the only decent cross of the game. He is still taking far to long to cross the ball, with Mark and sometimes Virgs up front he should whip the ball in as soon as he can at every opportunity.

I dont agree.

We were actually slow getting in the box meaning Leon had nobody to cross to at times.

Also, Currie was one of the best crossers of the ball we have ever had and he used to really dilly dally over getting them in. Far better to kipper the defender and make sure you get it in the box then lump it in when nobody is there.

Knight not a great ball into the near post in the first half that was almost exactly the same as the one Ronaldinho played in the Chelsea game...really low and whipping toward near post. Nobody read the pass though and it just looked shit.

If only he could cross it AND be in the middle.

There was nobody to cross the ball TO for long stretches of the second half.

I personally think that he was very lucky that Wendy Toms didn't flag him and have him booked for cheating. Yes the guy caught him, but lets face it, hardly touched him and there was clearly one or two seconds delay before he decided to go down clutching his face. Complete over-reaction and just the sort of thing that earns him the reputation he's got.

To me Leon must be as thick as Shit. He kept diving and laying on the floor but didn't get a decision. How long will it take him to twig that they are not fooling for his games. Why can't he understand that refs talk to each other and know that he's an actress. His theatricals either break up the game for us or leave us down to 10 every five minutes. Ridiculous. I find him totally embarrassing now. When he is brought down genuinely the ref just waves play on.....where does that get us.

Why doesn't he let his football do the talking..mmmm come to think of it....:p

It looked to me like a scratch in the eye - and that does hurt.

The only person who knows is Leon. And getting shoved around and kicked in the air, and verbally abused each and every game - I don't blame him if he did make a meal of it.

This is the second time that he's been pushed in the face recently.

On both occasions I actually thought it was only his size that meant his face was the recipient. Defenders aren't used to bending down to push forwards, and the push on Saturday was done without looking and wouldn't even have been noticed by the likes of McCammon. It definately caught Leon in the face, though.

It's the fact that people like you don't acknowledge the vast improvement he has made since December in staying on his feet and working his socks off that renders your arguement virtually worthless save as a piece of bigoted tripe.

So you don't like him. Give it a rest, it's just tiresome.

And as for the crosses, he hardly evers seems to fail to get a decent ball over, testament to his skill. It's one of our limitations at the moment that we don't get bodies in the box, which is, I guess, why McGhee's put Leon on the left recently.
