You pay for the right to transfer for the whole season. It’s your choice to only use it once if you want. The total cost for me to transfer my ticket for the whole season is £20.
Ah you've not answered my question. The total cost per person was £45 but a guest ticket could have cost £35.
If a season ticket holder is just missing 1 match a season it isn't worth joining. That's simple maths. If someone will miss several matches a season it's a great scheme, especially for those that split cost of season tickets between several people (which happens). Don't get me wrong; I'm just saying for one offs it isn't worth it.

As a one off you’re right. I don’t look at it that way though as I only pay the £20. I can transfer my ticket a few times to different people. Given ST prices were frozen this year ie we didn’t even pay an inflationary increase I think it’s a good deal.

You transfer the wallet to the new phone…….after the transfer, you’d get your new ticket (next match) downloaded, which then updates every 20 minutes. You can only download each ticket once.
So what’s the total paid per ticket if this only happens for one game ?

£20 by me and £25 by my guest equals £45. If only for one game then best do something else I guess. Surely missing just one game is quite common ? Doesn’t really need a club scheme.

Well, they could have just applied an inflationary increase to all ST prices and banned ticket sharing altogether I suppose. Would have saved themselves a lot of unnecessary earache.
100% agree re a one-off, but you forgot to add the cost the STH has already paid for the game……
One-off use for my seat would mean a total seat cost of £31 + £20 + £25 (£76), two games would be £62 +£20 +£25 (£107 so £53.50 per match), three games £93 + £20 + £25 (£138 so still well over the cost of a guest ticket for a Cat B/C game). Doubt either junior or I will miss more than 3 games.
Unless I’m going to miss 4 games, and all of them will be attended by the same A+ member, it ain’t really worth doing overall financially …….but to secure adjacent seats and take a pal we’ve still done it. Maybe explains why the exchange isn’t being opened……would be better for me to nab one on there (overall) if it’s going to happen less than 4 times, and then get my guest to sit in the empty ST seat next to me.
Incorrect……..for a seat you have already paid for…….add the cost per game of your ST.

If you don’t do it again, depending on where you sit each ticket has now cost around £75. Not really a bargain (ST cost, plus £20, plus £25).

That’s how ST work. That’s how they have always worked. When you buy one you can go sit in the same seat every week if you want and you also benefit from a discounted price per match and preferential treatment for away tickets. We’ve always missed a few games every season and never even thought of recouping the costs especially when games nowhere near sold out. We still wanted to be ST holders though. If we didn’t then we would buy on a match by match basis. So not incorrect at all.
Your calculation of the cost is incorrect. It’s not £45. That’s the additional cost on top of what you’re already paying

It’s not parking policy, it’s simple availability caused by a landlord decision isn’t it ? See other thread re Covid passports - it’s not a shitty policy, merely front-running likely/expected Government requirements before formal implementation, entirely sensible to do so before it is necessary to make sure they’re prepared.

But I’ve already explained that if you don’t go to a game as a ST holder you aren’t entitled to a refund. That money is gone as soon as you decide to renew your ST. It’s not the club’s fault that you want match by match ticket rights whilst paying discounted match by match ST prices.
I don’t want a refund………..I am just pointing out what ‘you’ are paying - IN TOTAL - per seat, and that if it’s only once or twice the overall spend is LESS if you simply buy guest tickets rather than use the sharing scheme.

I have no interest in parking.
I am a natural libertarian so I hate the idea of showing papers. I protested against ID cards when Thatcher tried to bring them in.
Not being able to pass on season tickets has nothing to do with this.
It just doesn't make sense.
I am as you correctly say discontented. I am 51. I am Goldstone and Withdean.
The disconnect between board and supporters is tangible. I know numerous season tickets who have not renewed.
The stadium is 25/30% empty I'm not alone in my view
