I have got an Ipod - I want to be able to use the music anyway as an mp3 file. Is that too much to ask?

Most of the sites use the .wma format with a digital license. This limits the number of times you can copy it to a CD, stops you sending it to other people, changing it to MP3 etc!!

You can download it, put it onto a CD and then rip it back onto your computer as an MP3 file, but that takes a while and really defeats the object of paying for the song!!

tesco offer a download service on their web site. Mad thing is they charge 7.90 for an album download but on Cd-wow you can actually buy the album for a pound more. crazy pricing.

MP3Tunes give you unencrypted, unprotected, MP3 files that play on anything; and are totally legit. Problem is that they have bugger all major artists as major artists insite on encryption :nono:

I was wondering what the catch was. Whole albums for $1?!

Yeah, its presented so legally, and has quite a cool payment system (the worse quality encode, the cheaper)

They use a Russian licence kinda like the nightclub DJ fees over here - flat fee, unlimited play (assuming its off legally acquired source material). However, its domestic only...
