I am absolutely CONVINCED we have the leftback problem solution already within the squad - a certain GARY HART.

I've seen him fill in there before/drop back in a few games over the last few seasons and noticed how competitive he is, good in the tackle and of course excellent going forward. He really looks assured there.

Mayo, personally I do not think is the answer, but will be good as cover. Hart, however, would do brilliantly here and would add much needed pace.

PLEASE PLEASE MR MCGHEE - if you are reading this PLAY GARY HART AT LEFT BACK! :flameboun

Wasnt Harty a defender who just happened to be playing up front when we scouted him at Stanstead?

No, no,no. Hart is not a defender. He often loses his head and dives in ( gave away lots of penalties the season before last) and he's right footed. This is not the answer. What about this - MM goes and signs a left-footed, left back?

Prehaps in a medical first we could arrange to Gary Harts right foot transplanted onto his left leg therefore making the first designer left back :glare:Could it be done for the start of the season?

Hart plays on the RIGHT Gunter you f***ing dillnut, and although he is does well at tracking back and putting in the tackles, there's no way I'd want him back there on a perminant basis.

Wouldn't he look strange? two feet on the end of one leg and a stump on the other!

Jones was a left footed left back - but we dumped him - not such a good move after all!

I'm convinced Mayo would have gone too had it not been his testimonial year. In the light of Harding going I would have preferred either Watto or Jones (or both) had stayed, providing they wanted to of course.

i actually almost kind of agree with gunter here! hart has played on the left side of midfield before (think it was against watford at home) so that isn't a problem. and also, he is very committed at tackling and is indeed good at going forward. every defender gives away penalties, its part of the game and i dont remember him giving away that many? anyway, don't knock it 'till you've tried it, thats what i say:flameboun

Exactly. He may be right footed, but I have seen him slot in the leftback position (vs Reading a couple of season ago) and play superbly.

You dont have to be LEFT FOOTED to play left back!
