The deadline for submitting bids to administrators KPMG has passed for all parties interested in taking control at Leeds.

KPMG put the League One club up for sale on Friday and demanded that potential buyers lodge their bids by 5pm on Monday.

There has been no official confirmation but it is thought there are only two parties left in the race - Ken Bates and Simon Franks from the Redbus group.

A new deadline has been set for noon on Tuesday, by which time parties must have proved to KPMG that they have funds in place to back up a bid.

The administrators must then decide who takes control, and are expected to make an announcement later on Tuesday.

Bates placed Leeds into administration at the end of last season, but his latest bid - which would have seen creditors paid back 8p in the pound - was challenged by the Inland Revenue, who are the club's main creditors.

Bates has threatened to sue if his bid is not accepted, claiming on Sunday that his bid was valid and therefore must be accepted.

Administrators in charge as we speak. That will be 10 points please Leeds United. Or will the Football League bend the rules for this "big club" again?

They don't even know where the season ticket money is going. This is from WACCOE:

Franks says "We dont know if we'll see the season ticket money"

Now what does he mean. If Bates lose's is he going to waltz off with the season ticket monies or is it going to be used to pay the taxman off.

I find it worrying & confusing that the season ticket money is tied up somewhere & Redbus/Morris & other potential bidders don't know if they can use it.

some body explain this too me please

Last quote for now:

Troubled football club Leeds United has secured a “major” new sponsorship deal but is set to miss out on the lucrative summer merchandising period due to the club being in administration.

According to a source at the club, a deal has been struck with a unnamed “big name” brand to sponsor the Yorkshire outfit.
