This time for tapping up Simon Grayson.

Leeds refused permission to speak to him, but still did.

He then resigned from Blackpool, but the resignation wasn't accepted and they are now taking legal action.

Wonder what their punishment might be?

A compensation agreement is all that will happen. Technically, if Grayson resigns his post, doesn't matter whether Blackpool accept it or not, there is no legal ground to stand-on.

Is a contract not leagul?

Not if somebody tenders their resignation. The contract under UK employment law is unenforceable.

There will, however, be some sort of compensation clause written into the contract, hence the reason why Blackpool will sue Leeds and Grayson himself.

...and then Ken Bates will sue the FA, claiming any and all action taken against Leeds United is unfair and discriminatory.

Grayson had a clause in his contract stating the level of compensation should another club request his services.

Leeds offered far less than this sum (they do have a track record of not paying up of course), and then announced him as manager at 1pm.

I think this board needs to get over it's obsession with Leeds United. It's not even like they've EVER actually done anything to affect us, apart from sign Mark Beeney to stop us going bust.

Don't geddit.

That was Howard Wilkinson rather than Leeds. When we played at Elland Road earlier this season their fans were all very pleasant.

Ken Bates however, is an obnoxious twat, and may everything he touch turn to turd.

I agree that compensation is all that will happen. But its not compensation per say its buying the manager out of his contract, like players.

Whats the point in a contract if its not leagualy binding, if its not why do clubs pay off managers when they are sacked.

Im not having a go or anything it just anyoys me when managers do this.

So when they do something helpful it's Howard Wilkinson, but anything bad it's Leeds United?

From what I can gather, a few Albion fans didn't exactly shower themselves in glory up there either.

Anything bad is Ken Bates!

I hope you are not referring to one of the most photographed people in the world in that final comment.

It can be a bit embarrassing sometimes, we're definitely a lot more interested in them than they are in us.

I find the continued existance of Leeds United repugnant and offensive.
Particularly last month, when their directors cheerfully announced that they were "happy to confirm that the audited accounts for the 14 month period to June 30th show a profit of £4.5 million".

They have SHAFTED all and sundry, spent monstrously beyond their means, trampled over numerous businessess, then had practically their entire debts and liabilties written off, and now they can carry on as if nothing had happened and start getting their noses in the trough making profits again.

I seriously wish they had folded, permanently. They deserved it.

hopefully when they are in this division for another year people will stop caring about them. They will sell their ground and they will be a nobody club.

I think you're missing the point here. The reason why so many fans (not just us) despise Leeds as a club is because of the way so many of their fans have delusions of grandeur especially in view of the fact that their monumental debts were all but written off, screwing many individuals royally.

The fact that there chairman is Ken (master) Bates does nothing for their cause as over the years we have all repeatedly seen his utter disdain for anybody or anything that might stop him getting richer, no matter how morally wrong it might have been. It's a fairly well known fact that it was the money of the late Mathew Harding that kept Chelsea afloat not Bates' and in fact Harding loathed him.

We, like most clubs, try to struggle along within our means whereas Leeds ran up an obscene debt that they could service and fleeced many businesses in the process.
