Prepacks are fairly common business practice amongst administrators. Better to take 20p in the pound than nothing.

As odious and slimey as Bates is, if it were US who were in that position I would be pissed off if DK did not take the same option and the 10 point hit now.

Absolutely. People seem to think nobody gets seriously done over in all this - that it's just a clever way round the rules.

But all the people they owe money get shafted - especially the smaller businesses who can least afford it.

They've done it once before too I'm sure.. all the shareholders had to accept a ridiculous amount for ther shares after the Premiership relegation.

It's scandalous. They should be kicked out of the league and made to work their way back up.

the plc did it before when it was sold off as a separate entity to the football club.

only done what the rules allow, like el pres above says we would be pissed if we didn't do this.

the rules need changed, can't blame clubs, leeds or anyone else, for finding the cracks in them.

It might stink but all they have done is play by the established rules...standard business practice

Would be a totally different story if Ipswich hadn't scored on saturday

interesting one that ...you are probably right ...but....surely they have been insolvent for sometime if the debts are 35 million

Apart from the fact that many people will lose money because of this decision.....I can see that this blatant abuse of the rules will hang like a millstone around the Leeds players and their supporters for many , many years to come. Look how the country views Leicester.....and who disliked them before their decision to go into Administration? With a club like Leeds, the venom they will face from supporters around the country, and hopefully, all the teams who play them will raising their game.........Ken Bates will hopefully, in the future, make Ridsale look like a saint in the leeds supporters eyes.

It's the moral equivalent, at least, of giving the title deed and the keys to the estate agent just as the fire brigade is pulling into the driveway. There's enough danger, stupidity and greed going around to make everyone look bad.

Meanwhile, is Wrexham going to be able to dodge their bullet? I've always had a soft spot for them.

Is it worth emailing the Football League and asking them to do the right thing?

i doubt they would take notice, as said before technically no rule has been broken, just bent in favour of leeds

Surely they realise they're being made a laughing stock by allowing Leeds to do this though.
but then if they changed the rules now surley Leeds could sue the FA (as Sheff UTD and Wigan are) for not properly imposing penalties as per the rules,.

i would guess the rules will be rewritten soon to prevent it happening again

To be honest I am amazed a relegated team have never done it before.

I would change the ruling so a team got relegated from the division they were due to be in NEXT season.

I must have a look on WACCOE to see if any of their fans feel guilty about this. :glare:

I expect the fa think docking leeds 10 points this season makes up for the West Ham cop out

It's nothing to do with the FA is it? It's the Football League.

Likewise wasn't West Ham nothing to do with the FA but the Premier League?

They broke FA rules, to which the Premiership abides by...
