We shouldn't have let him go.

The problem was that we had no manager at the time.

From various sources both at this club and others, Lee Steele is a mouthy, arrogant prick and rows with his team-matesmost of the time. Which we never really needed in a substitute

He wanted to move back to home I believe, which I think is near Merseyside?
When he left the Albion, home was in Burgess Hill. He'd just bought a new house.

Keaton's version of him - as a disruptive, argumentative, bad influence - doesn't ring a bell with me.

Showed loads of potential at first.
For me, his first touch always seemed to be his downfall.

Had a fairly weak shot on him too.

Shame really, cos with a bit of polishing he could have done well.

Lee Steele used to drink in the Queens Head Horsham on the odd
occasion. He received a letter from the club stating they no longer required him, they didn't have the courtesy to tell him face to face.

There was also a story about Bookies at Shrewsbury being on his case and when he came to brighton he was rather keen on the sauce.

ah that goal against Bristol city - what a great moment

Just a little offside !

Lee just loved a drink too much..also an asthma suffer I believe..which made him look even more unfit than he was

lived in the same complex in haywards heath as geoff pitcher and i think robbie pethick - my father was working there at the time and often used to speak to him, and although virtually impossible to understand due to his accent, only had nice things to say about him
