... has just had his contract terminated by mutual consent at Sheff Weds!

Strong centre forward, who looked an absolute top striker at Bristol City a couple of years. Wouldn't be the first good player to just fail to settle under Paul Sturrock, who seems to be a real hit or miss with players.

Could he do the job we are look for?

He should have had 5 that day!

How fickle the memory is. He was absolutely dynamite at Bristol City, a couple of years back. I remember cheering myself silly when he was due to miss the play-off final.

Let's face it, a striker who is currently banging them in, and perhaps getting the 5 in a game you speak of, is not going to be coming anywhere near our club.

Our BEST opportunity is a player with true ability, and a goalscoring pedigree, that for one reason or another is simply not firing this season.

A change of club, a fresh start, and they rediscover their previous form. THAT is the market we are in. We must accept it!

So what do you suggest?

DK opens his wallet and gets Thierry Henry and Eto'o I suppose. Actually weren't you the guy who was on Harty's phone-in suggesting Sherringham a few months back?

Wake up and smell the coffee everyone ... A PROVEN GOALSCORER WILL NOT COME TO THIS CLUB. WE ARE BROKE AND PLAY IN A NON-LEAGUE STADIUM!

Our signings will all come with "if's" "buts" and "maybe" about them. FACT!

Agree with that - yes, he missed a few chances against us but his strength gave our defenders a very awkward evening. I think he is better than what we've got, so I hope we are registering an interest.

You're wasting your breath. There is a group on here who will kick the club whatever the circumstances, regardless of any footballing logic.

I certainly was, but if you recall I was put on the spot by harty who asked if money was no object who I thought would do a job for us. At the time, and I think at the moment, Sherringham was not in the West ham side and there was paper talk that he was thinking over a move back to Millwall.

With regards to DK's wallett, I assume he opens it and moths fly out as it is very obviously bare as a cherubs bottom. DK has never been known as a big money chairman, when he took over he said as much at many of the meetings I went to, so therefore I would not expect him to spend millions on players you mentioned.

We will probably never know, however it would be interesting when this transfer window closes, to know just how much MM was given to spend on players. Lee Peacock, I would guess having moved from BC to SW, would require money to move daaan sarf, and if we are haggling over Henderson when offering £35k ish, leads me to believe that a relocation package for Peacock would be out of our price range.

I do wait to be pleasantly surprised though.

Despite his goal, Peacock really was utter GASH against us in that match up at Wednesday. I wouldn't be overly thrilled at seeing him down here, but as Gritty says, we are basically sifting through the scraps at the moment. He's got 2 League goals this season (including the one against us). If we did get Peacock, it'd be a signing more in hope than expectation that he could get the goals we need to keep us up. He really was rubbish in that game, so maybe we just saw him on a 'bad day', but the stats don't seem to back that up.

We all speculate as to how much Dick has....Do we know an estimated figure of his wealth? Derek Chapmans? Ray Blooms?

I know Ray Bloom must be better off having sold GoodBean. Chapman - millionaire. Dick founder of one of the most famous advertising firms....

What is their worth?
