Good article here today

Lee Hendrie was the darling of Aston Villa...but now he has to phone his mates for a kickabout | Mail Online

'I went to Brighton (at the end of last season) to get my face back out there. Gus Poyet was brilliant. He got the lads together in a circle and said, "******* hell, we've got Lee Hendrie here". Let me tell you, after feeling so unwanted I suddenly felt 10 feet tall.

'Any interest has fizzled out there because of other offers I was supposed to have been receiving. The same with Aberdeen (this summer).

I'd still have him back, specially now Navs crocked for the season. Could do a job, as they say.

I agree with some of the comments, I'd have him back but so many clubs can't be wrong, there must be something to do with money that means he is clubless.

He had a couple of moments in the games he played where you could tell he had a bit of quality.
Mostly however, he was pretty crap.

Wouldn't want back

I always think of the Hartlepool game away last season with reference to Hendry. For twenty minutes he was superb, bossed the game and looked a level above everyone else. For the last seventy minutes he did nothing. If we could get him cheap he would be a good signing but I get the feeling he is asking for too much at this level.

Useful player. Would want back at the right wage level.

Well he's not in a position to be too choosy now, so I can't see that being too much of a stumbling block.
Comfortable on the ball and a good passer, I reckon it'd be well worth giving him a deal for this season.

I think that game was where his "meatheads" comment came from, as regards some of the cloggers he discovered at this level. :lolol:

If he got himself match fit during a run of games, I reckon he'd slot in nicely. Would certainly provide some decent competition for midfield places. The Gus Bus should pull in and pick him up at the next stop I reckons.

I keep re-reading this one, then having a mini seizure, then having to start again. So clubs have stopped being interested because they thought he'd got better offers? Or he ignored them because he thought he was about to be given a better offer? If we have a whip-round will he pay his petrol down here and play for whatever we can afford? Does he have a Twitter page?
