I'm with you Uncle Buck. The thing is it doesn't really matter. Within 18 months of his (her) appointment the tabloids and NSC will be full of stuff saying "Sack <name>, we're making no progess ..... we're going backwards ..... we've got the players we should be doing better ..... he/she hasn't a clue ..... " etc etc.

We've done it for the last 30 years so I don't think we'll be changing now.

As per one of my previous posts,

Until the supposed english superstars are brought down a peg or too from their millionaire prima donna stage then we will win F*** ALL. IMHO O Neil does not piss about and if your not good enuff you don't get a game (How it Should be!)

The FA wil get a good manager in but it will be someone THEY can control and will not stand up for himself!

Not sure it will be a problem as Sven will not be going. Interestingly he gets criticised for having a settled group of players around him, yet if you look the managers that have done this (Sven, Venables and Robson) have got the best results. When we have had those that keep changing it (Taylor and Keegan) we have been pony.

You are so wrong - The FA keep making the easy choices by not picking a manager who has the balls to stand up for what he believes in.. If Clough had been given the job and Venables dubious business dealings hadn't lost him the job we would have had teams in the finals of European and World Cups.

But then if Robson had not been shafted in 1990, we would have done a lot more in the 90's. But it is all ifs and buts.

Quite, but a history of failed managers is not a good reason for keeping the one we've got, which is what Brovian appears to be suggesting

But then the only reason Robson got it right in the end was he was given time and backed by Kelly, whilst the press were running headline's including 'in the name of Allah go'.

At the end of the day we did not qualify for Euro '84, got the quarter finals in 1986, ballsed Euro '88 up and got to the semi's in Italia '90.

Give Sven the next world cup and then if we screw it up fine, he goes, but through the 1990's we have chopped and changed and it has done us no good.
