Adam Lallana not pulling any punches.

"You only need to look at the last three games without him, I think it’s been 5-1, 4-1 and 3-0,” he told Sky Sports. “So as I said to you earlier, players can leave Brighton but we’ve got enough without them.

“We had enough without [Yves] Bissouma, [Marc] Cucurella, Ben White, Dan Burn, when Neal [Maupay] moved on. So if Leo moves on we’ll cope. We’re coping already.”

Has he actually sung yet?
No email in my inbox yet, but they only tend to arrive a few minutes ahead of the public announcement these days. If I don't have anything at 11:58, I'm taking the dog out.

I'm interested to see what quote is attributed to De Zerbi!

He has 10 minutes to sign if they want him in the squad this weekend
The singing is probably already done - it's the photos and quotes etc.

He could have sung this morning but the world is not told until this evening.

But, yes, a 12pm announcement is the most likely, hence the dog sitting there waiting for me to move currently...

Personally I don’t know why the club agreed the fee so quickly and didn’t string Arsenal out for another week to get a better fee.
In the Ben White saga, we held firm and got another 15M or more out of them.

They clearly wanted Trossard so would have paid more to avoid missing out again as they did with the Ukrainian.

We got a fair price for someone who did not want to be at the club anymore, sometimes you have to take a hit for the benefit of the rest of the squad harmony.

And I’m not even sure we did take a hit, I think it’s a good deal for everyone. I was more annoyed about Dan Burn than I am this one.

We don’t know how long the negotiations have actually taken.

That's my take, you start playing hardball then Arsenal turn around and say 'we only needed him for cover, we're out' and we're potentially left with him when it's clear he needs to go for everyone's benefit.

Exactly.

The Albion would have had a fair idea how many other serious suitors there were. The Spurs informal offer for £12m is a long way short of what Arsenal have paid.

Having missed out on Mudryk, Arteta was clearly determined to add an option sooner rather than later, and they may well have moved on if they weren't able to get Trossard in pretty much immediately.

Then Albion would have had a growing problem with a bit of a distressed asset and time running out to shift it.

Impressive that there are two ex Albion players heading for a Premier League medal
They won’t win it. Man City will pull them apart twice. They might take second.
