I can't be doing with this dislike for Crawley on here. It's pure snobbery because it isn't by the sea and is a blue collar town - but it's no less Sussex than Horsham or Eastbourne FFS.

Some of these people sneering at the place on here should front up and tell us where they live, so that rest of us can go on and on and on and on telling them what an utter shithole it is.

Anyway they had sold 12,000 tickets an hour ago. I reckon they'll end up taking 20-25,000.

It’s full of Palace. It’s the Antithesis of Scenic Sussex. It’s practically Surrey. No one there supported us in the dark days and hardly any do now. Kick it over the boundary and be done. It is a **** hole, with no affiliation to the Albion or indeed rest of the county and never has done.

Not my experience at all. I had family in Crawley for years and would regularly visit and often watched football in the local pubs. I don't remember ever coming across a Palace fan though I wouldn't be at all surprised if there were some there given its location. But apart from that, I don't like the hateful tone of your message at all. Why is it that people make general comments based on very individual experiences? Sort of "I really hate Club X and their entitled fans. I worked with one once who said we'd never be a big club."

Whatever happened to brotherly love and politeness? I think I've changed as I've got older. Can't be arsed being full of bile though I make a partial exception for our guests on Wednesday. As it happens, I don't hate Palace either but that's another matter. My opinion stays the same, that it would be great for Sussex to have another successful club.

Given Crawley had been non league at the time any cash raised from a ground share would have been welcomed.

I come from and generational Albion supporting family from the Crawley area but one member, a certain John Denman my great uncle had the audacity to found a local team in his village back in 1896 it was called Crawley Town and played in the Mid Sussex league. Ì for one am proud of that Sussex man. I will certainly hope they do Sussex proud at Wembley.

Yes, I felt pretty uncomfortable at the "We pay your benefits" chanting at Everton. A minority, yes, but a sizeable one. Probably the same people who like to sermonise on here about the need for compassion and equality.

Yes, that is a tongue-in-cheek remark and a gentle dig at those who moan about Chelsea or Arsenal fans who've lived all their lives in Brighton. But I do remember Barry Lloyd saying when he was Brighton manager that it was a good job that Crawley didn't have a League team as they'd (quote) 'Bury us for support'. I think he was probably exaggerating but I'm also glad that our period at the foot of the league didn't correspond with Crawley's rise up it.

Crawley would have been little more than a selection of villages then. It was mainly farm land to serve London.
Two things changed all that - WW2 and LGW.
Crawley became a new town to rehouse Londoners, it’s the main reason there are lots of Chelsea, Arsenal, Spurs etc families in Crawley. Croydon wouldn’t have been affected as much and was itself just a town.
The expansion of LGW in the 60s meant lots of work and immigration.
My dad’s family were all rehoused from Battersea to Crawley in the 50s, they’re all Chelsea, my generation are all Albion (thank god!)
I think the palace line is drawn at Horley.

Yesterday, I drove past Carpet Kingdom, Carpet Castle and a dead cat all within 100 yards of each other on the Holbrook's road before lifting dog shit off a football pitch to get a game on. It's like living in Disneyland.

I really like the club. On TV this morning I came across the highlights of them tearing MK Franchise apart, I loved it. Crawley have some gifted forwards and the goalie looks good ….. someone there has worked wonders within a budget.

Crawley as a place though is a like poor man's Croydon, sh1thole

Crawley, as they are Sussex, we don't really have any adverse history with them, and I'd like to see another Sussex club do well. They don't really have the potential to rise the leagues, but you never know, just look at Luton. Another Sussex club in the PL would be fun. I'm done with Palace, I'd prefer we had a proper local derby, and Crawley is the best bet for that.
