According to sportinglife.com. Is it just me or is it madness to spend in excess of £11m for a player like him? There are more prolific strikers with arguably better temperaments out there surely!?!

It's not madness at all. They need a decent striker quickly, they have him, it doesn't matter how much he costs because money is no object, and it doesn't really matter if by July he's decided he wants to move to Italy because Chelsea can afford to sign any player in the world at any cost.

Sensible bit of business from them.

Dick Knight should have offered £12m then. We need a proven goal scorer if we're serious about getting promoted from this league, I can't believe we let another good striker slip through our fingers again.

There's not many who can play as a lone striker and score that many, who're proven in the premiership, and i'd say his 'temperament' is fine, just his brother agents were dicks when he was at Arsenal

Since he became a Muslim all his problems with his so-called temperament have been resolved anyway. Good signing and in the current market I'd say he was worth about what they've paid. It will be most interesting to see how Bolton get on without him.

Indeed, He was fine at Bolton.

He is one of the best strikers in the Prem.

Regarding temperament, that is what I have heard from seveal places - many people have said he's a very nice bloke, but a bit quiet, which isn't exactly a crime. His brother tho .......

I assume he IS eligible for The Champions League?

Great buy for Chelsea - he scores for fun at Bolton so you would imagine he will do even better at a club that is full of better players providing him with better service

that would have been one of the main factors in their decision - most decent strikers out there in chelseas league are going to be cup tied from champions league action - whereas he will not. similar situation to berbatov

Perfect replacement for Droghba whilst he's in the African nations Cup ( or whatever it's called now) imo. If he keeps their Championship hopes ticking over until Droghba gets back, job done.

Far better than the 30million they spent on Shevchenko...

I think a lot of the 'le sulk' stuff has long been exaggerated, especially by and Arsenal team who poached him from PSG then moaned when he told them he wanted to go to Real Madrid - despite making a 20million profit on him.

I read an interview with him once and he came across very well. Does a lot of work in the poorer suburbs of Paris and heavily funds junior leagues and coaches for youngsters in the area he grew up.

Settled down, found religion and is happily married.

Can't see him being too much of a problem to be honest.
