Samsung and Fujitsu have the best screens plasma screens, I got a 50inch Hitachi with a samsung screen, 1080 (can't remeber if it is P or I) for £950 with 3 year warranty off the net, £550 below listed price! and it's the bollocks!

Recently bought a Panasonic Plasma 50" and it's the mutts.

This thing about screen burn is crap by people who don't know what they are talking about - pure fiction. There may have been SOME sets a LONG TIME ago which suffered, but not now.

I want to get a small-widescreen TV for my room with a HDMI port for the PS3. Will browse online when I get a chance but thought I may as well post in here if there's people who know what they're talking about.

One of the reasons I asked is that Sony don't make 42" sets.

Unfortunately you're also a little way behind 'top of the range' too - that's now the X3500, and would cost another £500 or so.

The X3000 is still a fine set though.

Doing a comparison on the SONY site, can't really see much difference...do you know? and their rrp price difference is only about £200

plasmas only come in 42inch or over

My 37 inch Panasonic Plasma must have shrunk in the wash then!

This is a superb TV, would recommend it.

10,000:1 aspect ratio (the higher the first number the better as it is something to do with the number of different shades from black to white, or so I believe).

Got £280 off by buying from Dixons on-line rather than their sister store Currys.
