I go through spells of listening to MAH but her music tastes are similar to find. That’s a shame as not really a fan of Lauren

I loved her in Kenickie and singing Don’t Falter by Mint Royale (a real underrated summer pop CHOON)

With bonus Lauren sucking a lollipop and making kissy faces at the camera. What’s not to love!

Also, does she ever age?!

Think MAH is an acquired taste and 6 music is a good platform for her and the music she plays, just not sure it sits well in the mid-morning slot.

... or token bursts of dreary thrash/death metal. Or that fake-awe monotone and fake chuckling every other link. I'm sure MAH is a lovely person but on the radio it's like fingernails down a blackboard to me.
You lot have summarized nicely why I never listen to music on the radio. The last time I listened regularly was when Judge Jules and John Peel were on radio 1. I have dipped in and out of 6 music, but I have turned into such an entitled old bastard that I refuse to sit through 5 tracks I don't like in order to hear one that's OK. I just search on youtube now. I will listen to R 5 because I can dip in and out of dull chat as long as it isn't punctuated by loathsome music.

I do agree that Lauren Laverne is deeply pleasing on the eye, however. Even if her real name was Gofton. Not as nice as Ravenscroft. ???

I'm mildly baffled that anyone listens to 90% of music radio stations nowadays. (i.e. 10% of hosts have decent banter)

It was needed back in the day, but the Spotify algorithm is miles better at finding me all the music I could possibly enjoy now, and delivering it straight to my ears with no adverts and no annoying chat.

I've not liked any of the changes Samantha Hoy made to 6 music since taking over. But she regards Grimshaw as "one of the greatest presenters of his generation"so I think we disagree strongly on many things

Funnily enough I don't mind the eclecticism of her music choices BUT you are so right about her delivery. The 'fake-awe' in her interview with Nick Cave a few months back made me want to burn my ears off!
