You will never persuade a certain type that they would be safer without a gun. And in the US they seem to have a gun to the head of the decision makers. And the electorate seems to prefer a gun-loving god-fearing candiate to the alternative.

This has been discussed ad nauseam in here. My view is that the occasional massacre of men women and children in the US is simply a little bit of acceptable collateral damage on the rocky road to freedom. Or Darwins law in action (take your pick).

Not sure why everyone just focuses on the US, its pretty much the north & south continent that accounts for the majority of the worlds gun deaths, Brazil being the worse.

Amazingly The US ranks 20th for gun related deaths per 100,000 people where Greenland ranks 5th! Who knew.

Albeit Greenlands body count was 13 where the US was 37,200, but who's counting.
