Hinchy was definitely released - from your comment, I assume the BBC article has been updated because it clearly states that now - Notts County sign Cundy and Hinchy

Ah - I did wonder if that was what you were referring to. That is simply how the BBC is reporting the movement of a player from one club to another, ie Jack Hinchy, used to be at Albion, now at Notts County, Free (as in zero cost to County). There are plenty of other free agent movements on that page presented in the same manner. It ISN'T intimating it was an actual transfer between the clubs.

There are plenty of other free agent movements on that page presented in the same manner. It ISN'T intimating it was an actual transfer between the clubs.

I'd have thought then that 'Unattached' would be appropriate, as used, for instance, in the cases of Harrison Sohna to Cheltenham, Shaun Hutchinson to Millwall, and just yesterday, Raphael Varane (formerly of ManU) to Como (strangely enough, that one is listed on Transfermarkt as a Free Transfer!)

Still, at the end of the day, I don't suppose it makes much difference!

Edit: and now the BBC have changed Varane's previous status from 'Unattached' to Manchester United!

Seventeen players out on loan last season - 5 now left the club; 4 out on new loans; 8 still to be sorted (if they're not going to be kept on the payroll/in the squad here with the Albion).

The eight are Ayari, Rushworth, Samuels, Sarmiento, Turns, Weir, Dahoud and Mazilu. Can't see more than two or three of them lined up to be with the Albion squad next season - lot of work to be done in the next couple of days!
