Laptop Help Needed

My Toshiba Satellite A200 wont turn on!

Basically, all of the led lights come on (power, harddisk, battery etc) but nothing comes up on the screen. It makes all the normal sounds, the fan is working and so is the disc drive. I`ve checked and the problem isnt RAM. Normally the first thing that comes up is the Toshiba logo, but to no avail. I just get a black screen. HELP!

ps. on again off again doesnt work!!!! haha

Can you link it up to another monitor to check if its not just the screen?

have done, the monitor is fine

My A210 died on me, just went off, died. No lights or anything. Checked the battery and power lead on my other Toshiba, and they are fine. Any ideas?

You will probably find that the graphics chip is dislodged and will have to be re-soldered back into place, or you will have to replace the motherboard.

Sometimes mine proper mucks about. Remove both charge lead and battery, then hold down the power switch for seconds or so. Give it another 10, reconnect the power and try again.
