Lancing ....what,s happening ?

I,m well pissed off with the place at the moment. Someone has dug a hole in the middle of the road and now we have temporary lights on the Broadway of the A259 which means it is taking me a fecking hour to get from Hove to East Worthing when I leave work at the moment. One small proxy hole that no one has been seen working on but must be some sort of emergency underground repair. Is it gas ? Is it water ? Who the f*** knows because there is no one ever there to ask. Tailbacks into Portslade last night so why don't they effing get on with it.
I noticed they,ve filled it back in but couldn,t be arsed to put the tarmac back on so that normal service can be resumed in the morning. Makes my blood boil.

Then when you get to Beach green some idiot has decided to allow a whole bunch of bloody travellers to park on there and turn it into a right bloody mess. Litter is absolutely all over the place where the pricks have filled up all the bins rather than get shot of their shit some other way meaning it has blown everywhere. Dog kennels with Staffies in outside every caravan and dog shit absolutely everywhere according to friends who had a walk there last night.

Then we still have to look at that f***ing eyesore on the promenade which has never been finished and looks like something resembling the aftermath of one of the Asian earthquakes. Stupid effing design that fits in with nothing in the area and has been left unfinished and the kids are slowly taking it to pieces. Why didn,t the council oversea that development properly, inspecting finances of the tossers who were supposed to be building it. How many c unting years has it stood like that for now ? They might as well left the old Mermaid cafe as it was.

I,m f***ing relieved when I get to Brooklands and see the Welcome to Worthing sign..... And that's saying something.

DKM.... Do you actually know what happened with that development on the front there ? Who was building it ? Why wasn't,t it finished ? I,ve been wondering for ages why nothing has been done and asked about but no one seems to know anything.
I used to spend so much time there when my kids were small but I don't think that is going to be an option this summer for anyone unless they want to be mauled by a rabid Staffordfordshire bull terrier.
Why didn,t the people responsible put proper gates up in the car park ?

Dont mention our cheeky 'traveller' community, especially in negative tones, you will get a right shoeing on this forum. Went for a bike ride along the coast to Worthing on Monday evening and saw all the pikeys on Lancing Green. Certainly live up to all the bad press, crap everywhere, dogs running loose and to top it off a transit van being driven around the grass at fairly high speed by a driver not looking a day older than 13. When will the officials grow the balls to evict these cretins or prosecute applying the same rules as NORMAL SOCIETY.

What a wasted opportunity. Right on the beach, play area behind, car park, on a cycle path - I would have thought it would be difficult to fail.

It isnt finished because halfway through it was discovered that it was about a foot ( maybe two) higher than the plans had dictated. Resident opposite kicked up a fuss, all was stalled, in the meantime the company run out of cash. It would be a goldmine if someone kicked it into action, it was thriving in the 70's/80's.

The only info I ever got was it was going to be a restaurant. It might have been quite nice having a bite and looking out over the sea.

Must be irrational because the seafront is great. They have extended the cycle path (it is not perfect) but you can go along the coast from Shoreham to Worthing.

We went to the Blue Bird Cafe at Ferring the other weekend. All good fun. And picked up some fish for dinner on the way back. Great plaice.

I'm Brighton born and bred, fanatical about the city and love it to bits. Six years ago my daughter was born and we could no longer afford to live in Brighton so moved to Shoreham beach. A year or so later my son was born, you guessed it, couldn't afford a 3 bed place there either so moved just off the Brighton road on the Lancing/Shoreham border. I'll be honest, Lancing is not too bad! Yes there are road works on the seafront road, so what? Yes there are pikeys on the green, I bet there are several sites in Brighton no? I have grown rather fond of Englands largest village so less of the garbage please (I always wondered what that building was going to be, I assumed they had run out of cash!)
