The wealthy is NOT the middle class. Far from it. The middle classes are ALREADY struggling - with mortgages, student loans, child care, energy prices, and so on.
Fair enough. I suspect we have a vastly different take on what constitutes working, middle and upper class. And there really is no point in debating that as it’s a virtually subjective concept.

It would never be some people wanting dibs on what some folk have flogged their guts out over a lifetime to build.

One built by hard graft?
But what has the 'inheritor' done to warrant their inheritance windfall - they are receiving something for nothing, benefitting from someone else's hard work. Isn't this exactly what you denigrate welfare 'scroungers' for?

Conservatism is a seething maelstrom of contradictions, grievances and hypocrisy.

How do you work hard for your inheritance? I suppose I should ask Rupert Murdoch’s latest wife?
Idiot.
My wife and I come from council estate backgrounds, Deason and Stringer schools.
We've made a couple of quid working, and you think we should give it up?
Righto.

Blimey, no wonder the wealthy are heading out.

Is that the best answer you can offer?

Blimey no wonder some of us hold Conservatives and the wealthy in such contempt :bigwave:

You are missing the point - deliberately, I suspect.

Well done from coming from a council estate background (like me!) and achieving material success.

But when you give your hard-earned wealth to someone else, what have they done to earn it. How are they any different to anyone else who relies on hand-outs from the hard work done by others?

After paying top rate income tax for many years, you honestly think it's right for any capital built should be distributed elsewhere...great motivation for enterprise and investment.

I think you’re wasting your time explaining that concept to Potty. He’s never got it and never will.

I see.

I've worked hard, made a couple of quid and you want some of it.

Fair do's.
I don't want a penny of your money because I don't like inheritance or receiving hand-outs.

I think you are being deliberately obtuse, but I'll ask you a final time - if you choose to leave your hard-earned dosh to a family member, they themselves have not worked for it, and so are no different to a welfare 'scrounger', who Tories despise!

Think of it as being patriotic.

this is a weird argument. do you view any offers of financal assistance from family or friends the same? who does have the right to assets of the deceased, hard earned or otherwise?
