I will be cussing Poyet big time if Kuszczak isn't in goal. I couldn't believe it when he did it against Newcastle but he got away with it, as it was a shit Newcastle team. I know he needs to keep them happy just sitting on the bench but tough, if they are not happy they know where they can go, keepers of Ankergren and Brezovan's quality are two a penny.

Agreed, as said before why play either L1 journyman when you have a borderline Prem keeper who made one mistake a couple of games ago and played really well since (i.e. he's in good form for a keeper).

I would think that Poyet has far greater worries than the keeper situation today. For instance, the club are asking if anyone has a pitch suitable to train on today.
We need that training facility up and running very quickly.

What's your point? He was our best keeper at the time.

No he wasn't, Ankergren was playing every league match, Brezovan played in the cup match. And looked completely lost for twenty minutes against any ball into the box from throw ins/corners.

Ankergren was at Leeds when we played Stoke. He didn't join the Albion until the summer of that year.

Edit my apologies, that was Villa the season before, not Stoke.

I think Ankergren should play it. He has earned it with the good performance he put up against Newcastle.

Have to agree on this one. I was a little angry when the team for Newcastle was announced.

My first reaction was "why have I paid £39 to watch the flapper?"

I fully expect to be annoyed again on Saturday.

How annoyed can you be if you go to the game expecting something to happen - and it does?

Agreed, but in a strange sort of way, I never thought we had a pray of winning that game. Where as call me crazy, but I really believe we can turn Arsenal over on Saturday. Especially if they roll into town with a billy big bollocks attitude, that they are just going to turn up and roll us over. They really aren't all that any more and the way we play, give me a homer against Arsenal rather than away against caveman Stoke everyday of the week and twice on a Sunday....Plus we are a 100% better squad now.

Like you i'd hope for Kushy..but dont have the same feeling of confidence,,..still looking forward to it immensely

As some one one said, you should always play your strongest side.

This!!!

I felt Ankergren had a good game against Newcastle - clean sheet and made a top save in an important moment of the match.

I would prefer Kush in goal but won't be too upset if Casper keeps his place as cup keeper.

Are you sure? I honestly thought that pretty significant rotation was standard for teams like Arsenal in a game like this. Maybe I'm wrong though.
I hope Wenger does field the strongest side he can bit something tells me he will leave one or two on the bench with the Liverpool game on Wednesday on his mind

As long as they dont concede/concede clangers - i dont really care who is in goal.

Though if Casper was in goal Saturday, it will probably be his final chance to make an impression as his contract is up in the Summer.

this + i expect arse to bum us to be honest........unless we go for an all out attacking style and try and win the game in which case we have a chance..........

if we f*** about in our own half we will get STUFFED/THRASHED/KNOBBED....and that chumms is a simpleFACT...

Fine with Ankergren with everything but long range shots low into the corners. Watched the 2011/12 review DVD the other day and the number of goals let in by soft shots that he was just too slow or couldn't get down too was rather high. All 3 Palace goals I think would have been stopped by Kuszczak for example.
