Brighton and Hove Albion are recalling goalkeeper Michel Kuipers from his loan spell at Hull.
The Seagulls need the big Dutchman for Saturday's home game against Sheffield Wednesday as Ben Roberts has a back injury.
Teenager Ross Flintey, on loan from Fulham, made his debut in place of Roberts in last night's 1-0 win against basement club Chesterfield at Withdean.
Veteran goalkeeping coach John Keeley had to be used on the bench as cover.
Boss Steve Coppell said today: "Ben has been in for treatment and cannot guarantee to be fit for the weekend. I have left a message for Peter (Taylor) to phone me and said I am going to recall Michel, so the wheels are in motion."
Roberts pulled out of training on Monday. It became clear he would not be able to play last night during a warm-up 90 minutes before the match.
Coppell said: "He had a major back operation at Middlesbrough quite a few years back and he still gets some residual problems with that. We are not clear as to when it started coming on."
This is the benefit of having two top class keepers at the club full-time. This is something we have missed over the past few seasons. However I think Coppell did the right thing in loaning Kuipers out to Hull. 1st team match experience is what keepers need to make sure you get the best out of them when they are needed, keep them motivated, and fit.
I was in fornt of someone last night who kept saying things like "careful Roberts" and "remember we play in the stripes Roberts" all through the match. Now I know I'm short sighted, but he must be practically blind.
As I typed two or three weeks ago, I was warned by a Boro friend of mine that Roberts was susceptable to injury.
This was why I was so worried when it appeared that Michel was going to try and make his move permanent.
As the injury has happened now, it just means that Michel has got match fit so it has all worked out for the best.
It means Roberts can get completely fit again and will also have to fight for the number 1 shirt again, which can only be healthy competition.
FDM will also be aware it was his error coming off the line in the dying moments at Hillsborough which cost us the two points so he will be trying harder.
