I was in D block yesterday and can report that barring most of the first half, it was an entertaining and eventful game, there was a good feeling in the stand and generally, despite all the complaints about Withdean, it was a pleasant and satisfying experience.

So the shouting at stewards didn't go too well then?

I was in C block yesterday due to my desire to avoid the steward related irritation, and had a great day.

Yes it's quiet, but the 'atmosphere' in H block has seriously started to drive me up the wall.

Can I sing without someone complaining? I act the same at home games as I do at away games.

I was at the back of B Block yesterday......its a bit like the library ...getting behind the team and being vocal are against "The Rules"...prefer my normal seat in Block C/D

I know a lot of people who have shifted from the H block to various other places in the ground in order to avoid the morons singing the steward/poof songs instead of getting behind the team.

There was me thinking that there was a singing section, maybe it is time to revisit this with the club and its location. Whenever I have applied for tickets it has always been to sit in a singing section, as a result (apart from one game where I got my ticket from Kaz) I have always sat in Block J and not that far from Krispies. Perhaps if the singing section were located in the middle of the stand and not out on a limb it might help the singing spread to both sides and help improve the atmosphere.

Not if the songs are about stewards it won't. The singing section makes the atmosphere worse at the moment in my opinion. I'd rather have silence than 'stewards came in two by two' etc...

maybe its time the stewards made example of the morons and started chucking them out like they should

then again they'd get accused of over reacting

might try the east stand next game

Unfortunately I haven't made it to Withdean this season so I can't really comment on the stewards, their behaviour or the songs being sung about them. However, if the stewards are antagonising fans then surely a representation should be made to the club, or the company that hires them. Perhaps an alternative is that we steward the games ourselves, from within the fanbase of the club, free entry to games or a refund against a STH may be enough to persuade people to do it.

Maybe it is time to remember why the stewards are their, to protect us whilst we watch the game. Their function is to ensure that we get to our seats properly, assist in emergencies and react to any crowd disorder and remove miscreants. If the stewards are not doing their job properly and are actually creating a problem then they themselves should be removed, it is clear that there are individuals at all clubs who are on a bit of an ego trip and get off on messing people around for the fun of it, they my friends are about as much use as a chocolate fire-guard.

It's the fans not the stewards that are the problem.

No he didn't. I sit 3 seats away from him.
