Butters is on 2k a week according to some, so sounds like a bargain (don't believe Knight will get more than 3K down here though)

Winston Bogare is on 42k a week and has played about 1 game for chelsea!!! 8k a week is chump change in the premiership.

Because we are trying to sign him!!!

Ananova:

Seagulls hoping to seal Knight deal

Brighton are closing in on signing on-loan Chelsea striker Leon Knight on a permanent basis.

An offer has been made to Chelsea for the 20-year-old Hackney-born player and discussions are ongoing with his agent.

Knight took his goal tally to four in two league games for Brighton by scoring twice in the Seagulls' 2-1 home win over QPR.

Brighton manager Steve Coppell said: "We are hopeful a deal can be done. Leon is showing real signs of being a top player.

"He had two thirds of a season at Huddersfield and half a season at Sheffield Wednesday. Quite a lot of what he requires is mental strength, and to be able to sustain it over a period of time."

Meopham, Kent.
That's complete bollocks Dwayne.

I reckon he's on £2k a week top wack. Possibly more like £1000-1500 judging by some of the things Rhys Evans was saying after being released by Chelsea in the summer.

Basically the kids are on ordinary money until they break into the 1st team squad, something Knight has never done.

Not sure what Knight is on but there is some crazy money in the Premiership

Leicesters Matthew Jones is on £15,000 a week for doing f*** all

and

Leeds Seth Johnson, despite being shit and a thug, is on £37,000 a week!!

Makes u wonder

Dwayne could be right. Although Bob was on over £5k a week with us. with the £1m plus the money saved from Kitson and co, we could afford £8k no problem. (that's a big IF he requires that much, which in division two, is quite unlikely)

That's a lot of big and probably wrong assumptions. Dick Knight has already said that a lot of Bobby's money has been swallowed up by the Public Enquiry (Cue rants from the anti-Knight brigade). And the budget is bound to have been downgraded when we dropped a division (As the paltry offer to Beasant would seem to suggest). And when a player leaves, you don't get his signing on fee back but you have to pay out when they either re-sign on join the club. I would guess an offer of £3-4k a week would be the maximum we could offer.

Don't forget we need to keep a few shekels spare to pay Kanchelskis, too.

I'm sure Stevie and Dick will offer him precisely enough to make sure he signs and we don't go bust.

Trust is a wonderful thing.....
