Yes he did but there is a new generation of supporters coming thru now who no diddly squat what he did 10 yrs ago...and most of the peeps from 10 yrs ago have now given up going due to total apathy towards the team the withdean experience etc etc

I agree in sentiment with both portslade and jessie.

I think Dick probably knows it's time to move aside, but in my firm opinion, he deserves to lead us out at Falmer, have a stand named after him, and a bar for all I care, even if it is the best stadium in the blue square.

Yes, he sure as hell f***ed with the adams debacle, but if we were now in the play offs, we'd all be saying what a top decision he made. He got it wrong, we have to get on with it.

Just remember who he replaced and be grateful for all the graft he's put in.

Without him we wouldn't have a football club.

Good post!

What we really need now is for Dick Knight and the board to step up. Next season in the fourth division will be a real test of their commitment and ability. They need to own up to the f*** up they have made this season and pledge the money time and effort to get us back up. If they fall back on the lack of cash due to 3000 crowds as an excuse for not giving the next manager the backing he will need then we as a club are going to be in complete shit and they as architects of our demise will be to blame.

DK needs to realise its time for him to become Life President and step aside.

I think the problem is YES Dick did save the club 12 years ago but that was then - we have moved on a lot since then and he hasn't - that why he has taken us NEARLY (but hopefully not) back to league 2 where we were when he came to us

Still nobody can offer an alternative.

The general consensus from these threads is that the Chairman is a front for the collective decisions of the board. If you replace the chairman, the board will still be the same so what's the point?

I feel genuinely sorry for Dick Knight. When we came to Withdean most fans would have accepted being in League Two until Falmer came. As it is we have had real success here and that has led to ridiculous expectations from a lot of supporters meaning Dick Knight is being criticised now by idiots. For me personally, Knight in and it will remain so until we are at Falmer.
