Barmy Army to debut the following song (to the tune of Oasis' Don’t Look Back in Anger), which will have its “live” debut in Perth), the last verse is just gold:

Slip inside Ricky Ponting’s mind
He’s trying to find
Some new players to play

He wants to play his older team
But that’s just a dream
They’re too old to play

He said he’d start a revolution in his head
But he’s been through all the players A to Z
Now there’s just a summertime of doom
If he loses the Ashes race
He is going to lose his place
Losing three would simply tear his heart out

Sooooooo Ricky can wait
Shane Warne is too late
And there’s no Glenn McGrath
Giiiiiiiiiiiiilchrist’s had his day
And don’t look back to Langer
He cannot play

Most people won't know the words so will just sing the Oasis lyrics probably, which already happens with a lot of the other songs.
Except the Sloop John B song, which no one could get the words right to.

Is this any different to those who got grief for song sheets at Huddersfield? Personally (and I'm sure I'm in a minority of one) the term 'Barmy Army' just makes me cringe.

I'm waiting to hear what the Barmy Army have to say about Shane Warne and Liz Hurley. Let's face it - Warne f***ing LOVES England and it's a marvellous opportunity to 'nick' him from the Aussies. To borrow from the Albion, I would suggest:

"Liz Hurley is a slapper
She's always got the horn
And when she's shagging Arun
She thinks of Shanie Warne!..."

What was the one to the tune of Champagne Supernova? Something about a "Swanny super over in Chennai."

(to the tune of Champagne Supernova)

How many special people came
So many flights we had to change
Where were you when we were in Chennai?

Got hit for four with his first ball
Then took Gambhir and the Wall
Where were you when we were in Chennai?

Some day you will find him
Taking loads of wickets
In a Swanny super over in Chennai

Some day you will find him
Taking loads of wickets
In a Swanny super over, a Swanny super over

Because people believe
That we should never have come here at all
But you and I, will never die
And Graeme Swann is just one reason why, why, why, why...

Genius! As is the Dont look back in anger one and proof, if it was needed, that cricket fans are lot more intelligent and imaginative than football fans!

maybe so - but even if football fans did come up with songs like that, the game is so fast paced that you would never ever be able to complete the whole thing
