You're very right there. What a psychological and twisting reality-teaser. The audience quickly becomes the 'heroine', our eyes and history like hers. Like Happiness, i promise i won't see it again despite it's value, but will if it's on Channel 4 at 3.35 one Sunday morning.

I'm gonna name drop to f*** here but I saw it when I was working for BBC Film, at a screening with Andrea Arnold the director. It was the penultimate cut so I look forward to seeing the final cut sometime soon.

Very unsettling but in the best way, a dark story of loss and female impotency, a desire to put right that which will never stop being wrong.

Apart from the end, when truth somehow becomes the antidote to this devilish swing. Our imaginings sit like hers, i thought, convinced that serious incidents need monsters to blame. Like attacking paediatritians, in a way, thinking they sound a bit like touchers. Or trying to take the factory mince machine you worked on to court for robbing you of your hand when you were looking the other way having a laugh with a friend who got promoted a while after. Perhaps the company who built it would work on a chip that made the machine say sorry each time it made a sausage wrongly, or could identify the difference between a slab of meat and a human.
Although, this is much more complex. Really very moving.

You shouldn't feel bad or embarassed for saying you were in a very fine situation. Even if it's a pronouncement of angelic fortune, when every element of the world was watched and judged from silver linings alone. It sounds cool, and i am nobly envious.
I mention how i used to be a film reviewer in the old days when i had a brain and unminced fingers.

has anyone seen it? any good?

If we all said it was shit would you decide not to watch it ?

But if we said it was good you would watch it ?

My guess is that you will watch it anyway !!

Probably best to watch it then debate the film with those who have also watched it :drink:
