I went up to London to get a pair in 1977, and took in an Eddie and The Hot Rods gig at the Nashville - and the singer wore a pair.

I'd gone up intending to see the Sex Pistols, but the line outside The Marquee was long so decided to head for the Rods show. No regrets, and a review of the Pistols showed that they were only onstage for about 20 minutes before throwing their customary wobbly (so they didn't have to show that, in truth, they couldn't play anything else!)

i didn't realise they've been around for so long... are kickers a US brand?
