If GP reacted as a fan every game the club would be in meltdown every time we lost. Fans and head coaches are different animals and should react differently. Publically criticising your players rarely works (see Spurs now.)

Our Graham is an intelligent, talented coach and manager. He knows full well our strikers aren't good enough, and he also knows we aren't in a position to go out and buy the ready made solution to the problem.

Does he a) put Tony under pressure by publicly declaring he needs a new striker because ours are a bit rubbish, undermining his boss, demoralising his strikers and gaining absolutely nothing... or b) say he is happy with our strikers, despite their obvious shortcomings, work hard with them in training and try to lift their confidence so they can play above their talent level.

Seems a no-brainer. But of course he knows, he's not stupid or blind. He's working with what he has got.

This passion thing is a double edged sword. Visibly showing passion isn't exactly a shortcut to glory. At least he doesn't come off apathetic in his laid back demeanor like Hyypia.
At last a post talking to me instead of at me , ok i get your point thanks . My point was that i see football as a very passionate game , most do .

I said absolutely nothing about publically criticising players .

I was never drunk , i merely stated the two conditions you should never post under , i was angry . If i hadn`t started the post with that line i might not of received the amount of crap that i did . I am a BHAFC supporter the same as everyone else on here ( with a few exceptions ) i wouldn`t get on my high horse because you or anyone else showed passion for the game no matter what . There were a lot of smart arse remarks made by those who consider themselves better , yet i was the drunk , unbelievable . I made an opinion people either like it or not , i don`t need their superior hollier than thou platitudes , i dont set out to be offensive and wont accept it off anyone else .

You're entitled to your opinion and some of the comments against your opinion are a little bit uncalled for.

I think GP's approach to post match interviews are deliberate. He doesn't want to give the media any controversail soundbytes. He only does the conferences because he has no choice, in my opinion.

I don't even watch them anymore.

What's important is the emotions that are expressed to his players. If you watch him interact with them, there are plenty there then.

Thanks , my original post wasn`t the best , as i say i was a bit angry and frustrated not just as a supporter but for the lads . GP does have a great connection with the lads and as you say it`s there to see , i think i just wanted to see some of that aimed at the camera for us , but can now appreciate why he chooses not to .

Sorry I asked.

These aren't the players you're looking for.

As fans there is nothing wrong with displaying emotion, its why football without fans is rubbish.

But for Potter, no. One of his key strengths is his emotional inteligence.

If you look up the term in the Oxford Dictionary,

emotional intelligence
noun
the capacity to be aware of, control, and express one's emotions, and to handle interpersonal relationships judiciously and empathetically.
"emotional intelligence is the key to both personal and professional success"

I'd be worried the day he does come out ranting.

Sorry I asked.

You called me " Pissed " what do you want me to say ?

I would guess at least 80% on here last night had had a drink , i called none of them pissed , i insulted no one but got a shed load back . But i`m definitely pissed now and it`s got nothing to do with alcohol . I read this site for about 7 years before joining , i thought it would be a good crack , i didn`t expect a shitstorm because i put up a poor post . Unlike a few on here i don`t know it all , difference is i`m happy to learn and i wont set out to offend a fellow Albion supporter , let alone try to belittle someone as one or two did on here last night .

Fair points + yes, no need to be hostile or belittle contributors responding to matters of opinion. We've all seen posts a lot worse than the OP's including many recent ones. As for the points raised, well, that's not GP's way, is it.

Apology accepted.

On what planet is that an apology , it was a polite way of saying that there were a lot of dickhead comments toward me for what was just a poorly thought out post , i owe absolutely no one an apology . And even on my worst day , pissed out of my skull i wouldn`t have behaved so childishly as some have over such a non event .

Like I said, your change of heart has been graciously accepted.
