This is good enough for me. Reflective after a draw that could easily have been a win.

Brighton boss Graham Potter to BBC Sport: "It is frustrating but pleasing because the performance was very good and we did everything but score. We had shots, had attacks and reduced Villa's attacking players. We are disappointed with just the one point.

"Their goalkeeper made some really good saves and has been an important player for them. That is football but the overall performance - we had enough shots, attacks and goes at them to score, just not that last little luck you need."

Yes but it is almost the same reply to every game

Because Potter is an intelligent coach and man-manager, able to see the big picture which is very positive.

Perhaps the club will address striking options in the next window?

Leaving the angry manager charade, in singling out players for criticism to the media, to Mourinho.

WHO said singling players out for criticism to the media ????????????????????????????????????????????

11 draws, most of them looking similar to this, what is he going to say?

How would i know ! He`s the manager .

But i might start with , well this is starting to pee me off a bit , destroy a team on the pitch for a lousy point , when my players should take their chances and earn the rewards they deserve .

To your earlier post , Mullery and Taylor (70s) were my favourite managers , and both were emotional . They were also loved and successful .

Always a bad idea to speak when angry or drunk , still angry maybe drunk .

While i`m still in shock that we somehow couldn`t win that thrashing we gave Villa , i`m both in awe at our fantastic play , but also incredible ability to mess up so many gilt edge chances .

But above all what pisses me right off is GPs lack of anger , he`s side just mullered Villa , battered them , creamed them , handed them their arse . Why is this man not fuming angry , show some bloody emotion .

It would be hard to find fault with anyone at our great club , least of all our players or manager that has made us a GOOD team , but stop dismissing our great performances as bad luck , or just not our day . GET SOME OUTWARD EMOTION , you don`t have to take the scraps Sky throw you , tell them " We kicked arse " were you asleep ??

Answering your question of why GP responds in interviews the way he does... Because he is more strategic, emotionally intelligent and media savvy than you. Because he has studied how to manage a football team and gained useful experience in doing it. He has a clear and consistent script that he draws on which is carefully thought out and aims to be effective over the longer term. This does often make his interviews boring for us as fans though.

Perhaps the club will address striking options in the next window?.

I’ve given up hoping for that after six years waiting. Instead I console myself that our aim to be a top ten club will be realised when one of our academy gambles pays off.

“Who said anything about singling out players for criticism, all I’m asking is our manager to say he’s getting pissed off with players missing chances.”

I hope you’re on a wind-up, or very pissed. For your own sake.

Our Graham is an intelligent, talented coach and manager. He knows full well our strikers aren't good enough, and he also knows we aren't in a position to go out and buy the ready made solution to the problem.

Does he a) put Tony under pressure by publicly declaring he needs a new striker because ours are a bit rubbish, undermining his boss, demoralising his strikers and gaining absolutely nothing... or b) say he is happy with our strikers, despite their obvious shortcomings, work hard with them in training and try to lift their confidence so they can play above their talent level.

Seems a no-brainer. But of course he knows, he's not stupid or blind. He's working with what he has got.

This passion thing is a double edged sword. Visibly showing passion isn't exactly a shortcut to glory. At least he doesn't come off apathetic in his laid back demeanor like Hyypia.

Quite, we don’t want him “doing a Poyet”. Remember how that ended?

I am saying that if you have seen one post match interview with GP you have seen them all . Why can`t he show his pride in 26 shots tonight , but also the shared frustration we all feel , or am i the only one fed up with dominating teams for no reward . I thought i would get get a few negative comments , but i genuinely thought we all want to win , and GP showing the same disappointment as the players must be feeling would a show of intent .

Stone me i thought we supported the same club ???

You seem to be obsessed with GP showing emotion for some reason.

The post match interviews are guff. Meaningless. Mere soundbites for the media. How a manager reacts in these would have no baring on the result. Behind closed doors is a different thing, I’m sure Potter and team is not adverse to analysing the game and highlighting faults to the players. And if you question his toughness making decisions, well see Matty Ryan and Dale.

We’re all hardcore fans here, we’re going to get emotional during and after games. But as a coach getting all het up after a match or ranting and raving to the cameras is not something a successful manager will do in the modern game.

Chucking Kipling at me is ridiculous , i will up you CHURCHILL ! .

Please dont talk crap at me , " Those ruled by emotion are inherently weak " so why do you go to The Amex ?

You have an interesting spacing around commas you share with others of this parish. That is an interesting coincidence.

During those 6 years, I thought the era of Muzza, Baldock and Hemed ticked all our striking needs.

If anyone was moaning during those two Championship seasons, as 146 league goals were scored, then there’s no pleasing some people.

We all recognise that we’ve needed a prolific centre forward in the PL. But who is that 15 EPL goals a season striker who wants to sign for us and our financial set up? [Or sign for CP, West Ham, Burnley?]

I genuinely think we’re going to have to develop that Striker from the players we already have. The risks of a losing tens of millions on an investment like Benteke, Joe Linton or Haller are too much.

However, it‘s still possible that we’d sign an out of contract striker in the summer and put them on Lallana level money. We’d want a natural striker rather than an all-rounder like Welbeck in my opinion:
