Wasn't there a young Southampton striker that, rumour had it, was coming here last year.

Can't remember his name or much about him (except that he'd been a bad boy and featured in a tab), and the rumour came to nothing.

Was it Brian Howard or something - the one that went to Bournemouth (I think) on trial and wasn't signed? - When asked about him last year Coppell said 'I've never heard of him!" - or was it Scott McDonaald - keep getting the two mixed up
