I saw him at Crawley and thought he was worth a go if we didnt find any better.

Again he showed some nice touches last night and with better finishing and on the second attempt if he had not been taken by surprise with a cross, he could have had 2 goals. Worth another look at Cambridge.

With regards to Currie he looks very unfit. When he has the ball at his feet he looks OK, but he cannot get to the ball.

Jarrett is the one to have another look at.

Lack of goals against a low standard of opposition is a big worry. He makes Chris McPhee look prolific.

Haven't seen him play, but every match report says he 'could have scored with better finishing' or something like that. Sounds a bit like Graham Barrett to me.

Kerekes impresses McGhee

Brighton boss Mark McGhee has been impressed by trialist Zsombor Kerekes and says he has plenty of goals in him.
The Hungarian striker looked dangerous in the 0-0 pre-season friendly draw against Southend on Wednesday.

Kerekes is set to face Cambridge on Saturday and McGhee said: "He'll adapt as he realises the English game is a little more physical than he's used to.

"He will score eventually - we've seen him in training and he's a terrific finisher," he told BBC SCR.

Sounds to me like McGhee is planning long-term. Presumably the guy is about to get a contract.

My question to those users of NSC that have seen Kerekes play is:

Does he look better, worse or about the same standard as Chris Iwelumo?

He wins less headers but has much better control.

I'd rather we signed Jarrett first.

I've seen him play twice now and have not been overly impressed. The words Barn and Door spring to mind.

It's intersting that MM let him go as he did'nt think he could do a job a little over a week ago, and now he's called him back, presumably as he could'nt find anyone better during the last week.

This worries me greatly. All summer there was this talk of 3 or 4 new additions to the squad - and what have we got.......one promising but inexperienced player who is completely unproven.

I'm getting a major sense of deja-vu this summer. Why does this happen every year ? I know we're not flush with cash but I can't believe we cannot a couple of decent salaries for a couple of experienced 1st divison players.

Still - I suppose there's still a whole week to go, plenty of time to bring in another 2 or 3 players..............

I haven't seen him play but I have seen Iwelumo...Big Chris did a job for us, got us the penalty, etc. but he was quite dreadful most of the time. In much the same way Rougier was. Both will be remembered fondly by Albion fans but I'm glad we're not paying their wages anymore.

I think Kerekes is worth giving a 3 month contract to. I saw him at Crawley where Molango stole the show, but I thought Kerekes did ok. He's a big physical presence, showed a few nice touches and got into a couple of good scoring positions. OK his finishing hasn't been the sharpest, but he's working on his fitness, and given a bit of time to settle I think he could have something to offer.

We are desperately short of numbers up front for the start of the season. If he's not got anything else on the table, then give the fella 3 months to prove himself and earn himself a longer contract.

Against Southend kerekes awful i thought. To paraphrase something that one of my mates said recently, i thought he had the first touch of a rapist.

Get rid.

I would rather have someone half-skillful than a lump of dead-wood up front.

Most of your posts indicate you've constantly got wood up front:ohmy:
