If it's a diamond cut finish or forged, i.e. a polished/shiny surface, rather than matt, the people that visit you won't be able to do it properly. The wheel needs some minor welds.
To sell a car in brilliant condition a year ago, I had all the dents etc repaired.
Mobile Tyres of Providence Place, Brighton (01273 609314) take the wheel off for you, and its collected by couriers, who take it to specialist in Kent. From memory, it takes less than a week and cost about £75 or £100 a wheel. I can't remember the price exactly.
That's by the new Sainsbury's in the New England 'Quarter'.
The Kent place is highly recommended in the industry.

We're getting a new car in less than a month, and the alloys were £800 extra.. I can't drive yet, and am absolutely shitting myself about scuffing them up. Although this will not help you now, apparently you can get rubber-like guards that protect the edges of the alloys. Which we WILL be investing in!

Nice deal on 4 wheels. Not used groupon before but just searched to see if there are others (I am not in Brighton) and have 20” but nothing came up. I did get wheel insurance but having read the small print might as well have burnt the cash in the garden,
Not sure if anyone else can beat that.
Ad Williams in Worthing was £50 a wheel last time I had it done.

Some cars have tyres that come beyond the wheels so make kerbing more difficult as the tyre hits the kerb first.
I had Alloygators fitted to me last car and wouldn't recommend them as one became detached from the rim while driving and so decided to remove all 4 .
The fitting and manufacturing company were unable to provide an explanation . However if you do have them make sure you notify your insurance company as they would be considered a modification to standard spec .
Best to stick to tyres with good rim protection .

I work next door to them and they are always busy.
I wouldn't recommend them because they look SHIT!
You might as well have a big sign on the roof that says "Caution. I can't drive this car without banging into things that aren't even moving."

Their work is superb, a lot of wheel refurb outfits make a wheel look mint at the time, but most look rubbish again after a few years. The set of wheels I had done my Lepsons are mint after 5 years and show no signs of that changing. Worth the extra imo.

The only place in Sussex I know that will properly restore your wheels. Many people refurb their wheels here every year. Same day service on my Benz was £380 full set. Fully stripped and oven baked to factory new look. Cool and polite people too.

Tends to be nearside front that takes the hammering. Once you do it, keep going until it’s worth the cost of repairing!
