Horseshoe politics so not quite a full circle, but as near as dammit.
Your being pedantic.
(so am I)

Are there many right wing 'nutters'? From my observations 'nutters' seem to be exclusively left wing.
Swansman and you have nailed this.
Facism and non-democratic Marxist regimes are evil, thugs from the Hard Left and Far Right (people who want to physically hurt others) are scum.
maybe one of the problems we need to move away from is pigeon holing everyone, the tribalism is so endemic now everyone is either left or right when in reality most people are neither. The country and the political direction today is so far right that anyone who doesn't buy into it or see themselves are sensible centrists are now seen as loony lefties
Who are the big centrist voices these days?
Exactly this, hence the phrases and terms
Hard Left , Hard Right, Radical Left, Radical Right, Extreme Left, Extreme Right.
National Socialism is the ultimate extreme of both left and right, come full circle and I think I am right in thinking there were one or two nutters within that particular party.
What about the extreme centre, of which there are far too many?
Also where does anarchism fit in here? And, as a curiosity but a favoured position of someone on this thread, what of paleo-anarchism?

It's a wide spectrum of views across the public. For example, I know many people who voted Brexit (some are lifelong Labour voters) who are decent, non-racist folk. Conversely, people who voted Remain who don't despise Brexiteers, although the likes of Farage and IDS aren't popular by a long chalk. I can have sensible conversations with almost anyone. But not with Icke/Trump fans ... not on my part, it invariably ends unpleasant .... they hate my opposing views.
Social media and the media exacerbates the pigeon holing. People who hate and never truly listen dominate, giving a false impression of a world split down the middle on every issue. The quiet, considered 80% in the middle, don't get heard.

There are also (unfortunately) a large number of people from all sides of the political spectrum who can't think for themselves and simply agree with whatever their favourite political leader tells them.
Have you ever had a look at GE party manifestos?
I don't make a habit of it , but did in 1997 and 2019, possibly other times too. Admittedly just Labour, Green and Tory.
Yes, I know parties lie/exaggerate/don't reveal all to get their foot in the door, but it did influence my vote. I'm interested in wildlife, also taxation.
I get the impression that many millions eventually follow their Dad or parents .... "I've always 'ated Tories, my Dad did" or "I've always 'ated Labour, my Dad did".
Unwilling to open their minds, read up.
Yes I have. It's quite interesting to take the obvious bits and try to get someone else to guess the party. Especially when Nick Griffin went all "environmental".
With the London elections I suspect it's gonna be case of looking at the qualifications of the candidate, seeing one has experience of being a Mayor and voting them in on that basis.
The other candidates are so awful (or oddball) I wonder why Sadiq Khan is even bothering. It's even looking like Count Binface may beat Lawrence Fox.

Lets face it anyone would be a million percent better then these absolute cretins running the country at the moment. We followed the US down the dumbing down politics route and look at what we've got now.
