Tomorrow my eldest turns 17. He loves kebabs. Rather than stick around in boring Eastbourne, I think we'll go for the rather more exciting prospect of Brighton. So where will we find the best kebabs?

Makara, Taste of the Sahara, Kambis in that order. All along western /church road between waitrose and hove town hall.

(First two are sit down restaurants, Kambis do take away as well)

If you want posh kebabs then Ephesus on Preston Street is a nice restaurant.

Beelzebab at the Hope and Ruin. Yeah, sure, they're vegan, but even to a meat eater like me, they are great. They also serve a range of loaded fries that are just as great.

Kambis in Western Road, Brighton or Anatolia Restaurant in St James Street, Brighton.

Both excellent. Suggest the latter.

I had a mixed kebab in Worthing recently with chili source. I spent about 3 trips in the toilet the next day trying to get rid of it, the last one especially, not a pleasant experience. So that's put me off for a while.

Probably didn't help that I drank about 7 pints of beer at the time, which seems a bad combination.
