Up and Coming Sunny Portslade
Witnessed in Roppongi (?) on a Friday night years ago when there on business. It’s genuinely hilarious to watch. Absolute carnage.
No matter how much I drink, I never get that drunk. I’m more likely to throw up than fall off my bar stool. but carnage is the perfect description. One of the wonders of the world!
Lived in Tokyo for a year. Absolutely loved it. Some very drunk, very late nights out in Pongers and lots of yakitori and karaoke sessions with @Vankleek Hill Seagull

Some of the ones you see falling around have only had one or two drinks though. Many East Asians are missing the enzyme that processes alcohol properly. One of our translators once passed out after one vodka and coke. We had a bloke in our ex-pat local in Taipei, which I moved to from Tokyo, who was local who would come in, have one large whiskey and turn pink and start swaying.

To an Arsenal or PSG or whoever he would represent a risk. Unknown quantity with the injury recovery and not loads of resale value.

Value to prospective purchaser. Approx £40m

Value to us. Approx £60m

= no sale

Also Paul Barber mentioned the fact that we are planning a Far East pre season tour to capitalise on Karou. Hardly going to be planning that if we’ve already agreed to let him go.
Keeping him beyond the 2024/25 season will be tricky if he performs well, but it’s our model to trade players.
I thought he meant Essex, or possibly Denmark 😉

According to some arsenal twitter he's off to them in summer for under 80 million and it's a done deal! And, he's alleged to have asked Brighton for an easier move rather than the Caicedo bidding war last summer!🤣🤣
So trying to track down if Mitoma actually said this or well anything related to this story is pretty much impossible.
I don't think its a twitter account anyway and the The source referenced is your usual "reports say" https://sporthub360.com.ng/2024/03/...s-player-begs-club-not-to-disappoint-him-lik/
the twitter account or "reports" they quote apparently come from a "spanish site called Fichajes" - the "reports" hinted at by this tweet.

(says nothing much beyond he is being "tracked" )

but Fichajes is a low rent made up content farm who write nonsense like this https://www.fichajes.net/noticias/3-clubes-quieren-sacar-kaoru-mitoma-brighton-20240211.html - that i think is done by AI - but no article as far as i can tell has actually interviewed Karou or "friends of Karou:. Well he wouldn't say that anyway would he.

and the trail pretty much ended there.

And nowhere on this mad trail does anyone say a deal is "done" - i think you added that bit. And these "rumours" are from about a month ago anyway- surprisingly enough not followed up by anyone.

Why give this nonsense any credence. We're better than that on NSC ha ha.

We’ve barely scored a goal since he got injured so it would be disastrous if we sold him. It looks like we’ll finish 7 places lower than last season so surely the club won’t sell any first team players after what happened last summer.
….depends who else comes in

Most likely scenario seems to me that we'll look to get another season out of him and get what we can in the summer after that.

In the meantime, we'll look to see if we've got genuine starlet amongst the ranks of young wingers, so I would expect to see prominent loans for Mazilu and Osman. Ahead of them, Enciso and maybe Sarmiento, will get the chance to see if they can have a breakout season

In addition, an assessment will be made on Solly. I've got a feeling he'll feature more at full back than on the wing for the final seasons of his career.

Fati, will of course go back. Pedro is surely a better player in the middle. This all leaves Adingra and Mitoma playing a lot of games.

All of which suggests to me we will be looking to recruit at least one winger, most likely right sided and about 22/23 years old this summer.

Our attempts to replace Caicedo, Mac Allister and Colwill haven’t filled me with confidence…..

Upside is the experience the youngsters have got which they wouldn’t have had if we hadn’t had such a shitfest of injuries. Take the positives, it could benefit us big time next season with fit shoo in players back and back up players with PL experience along with the guaranteed (imo) new signings. No Europe either, pretty well guaranteed.

I don’t see us selling top players unless they do a Sanchez or Caicedo

With or without RDZ (hopefully with) we are well set imo

It was first reported, i think , by The Athletic in Feburary. Barber has confirmed it (although no details yet) in a podcast he did with the club earlier this week.

Too early to say surely. Buananotte , Baleba, Igor ( not like for lkie replacements anyway- Is Gilmour a replacement ? ) are hardly players that should be written off - Buonanotte is a full Argentinian international now and has definitely improved this season. But he's only 19. Likewise Baleba in the last 6/7 games. Several MOTM but yes, still some errors - but he's v.young. Bissouma, Caicedo, and MacAllister all came good but all took plenty of time to bed in.
