[Albion] Kaoru Mitoma [27/2/24 - possibly out for the rest of the season]

Got something to say or just want fewer pesky ads? Join us... 😊

No I agree with saying any negative news and some of the moaners come out in force looking for someone to blame. Shove your ‘wow’ bollocks up ya arse 🤣😘
They really don't - they are just disappointed that we've lost Mitoma, never had you tagged as a snobby superfan who doesn't allow anyone to vent a bit. Every normal football fan vents

You do know it’s possible to love Tony Bloom and be massively appreciative of everything he’s done for the club but sometimes point out the club has potentially made an error.

They aren’t mutually exclusive. At times it all feels a bit cult like on here.
I agree with you and RDZ the windows haven’t been good enough to allow us to compete on three levels. The team have picked up results and some have been important results although I’ve often thought this season many games have looked a struggle. What I don’t get is the midfield. Mac and Caciedo were always going to go in the summer and the forward planning on those two seemed non existent we didn’t replace either of them satisfactorily. A half arsed effort for KDH seemed like more fan appeasing than a serious we need this player in the door.

Agree but I don’t think he’s made a MASSIVE error here.

You think the squad was fully prepared for this, despite our only natural winger options being Mitoma and Adingra? Not about having a queue of wingers. About having one more. If so, then fair enough.
Weren't they both away on international duty at the same time .....

RDZ has said again that Barco is not ready. In 50 years of supporting the club I can't recall being as disappointed at news of an Albion injury.
I cannot believe that the likes of Baker-Boatey or Duffus are any more ready than Barco and they've both played first team football. Valentin played in 32 matches for Boca Juniors in 2023 including the Copa Libertadores Final vs Fluminense, while I watched Baker-Boatey play against Steyning Town and thought he looked way off 1st XI standard.

I am not expecting Barco to light up the place from the off, but I would expect him to be able to step in during an injury crisis.

Who is to blame? What’s the latest in this respect? Is it yer man at Sheff U? Everton for loaning them him? Or Boris Johnson? Who? Who is it? And why do injuries only happen to us?

I also realise shit happens.

So far,
Bloom is to blame
He should have been taken off after his leg got kicked (back injury)
We haven't got anyone who can play on the left (Adingra's natural position)
Mitoma unlikely to ever play for us again, even though he has signed a new contract and hardly any clubs could begin to afford him (FFP).

Mind you , you never win anything with kids. So forget giving someone a chance and withdrawal from the FA Cup and Europa. We might just stay up.

We’re all disappointed we lost Mitoma. Some have used it to moan about lack of investment in an overpriced transfer window when we actually now have more options for wingers than we did then. I was more in agreement that a select few take their moaning and hysteria to a new level - not your average -‘ oh that’s annoying’ posts but you’ve tried to make it one ‘team’ or the other which it’s not.

How is that a snobby super fan! Never had you down as someone to use the patronising snobby term ‘wow’ in that context 🤷🏻‍♂️

It's the "cretins" bit? People are entitled to put their case that club should be signing players without you looking down from your great heights calling them that

So frustrating, and a big (if not massive) loss, however…..

Mitoma has been ordinary at best in the Europa league games IMO
Enciso is back…
Fati is moving towards full fitness…

Most importantly, I hope his injury heals well and he’s back before the end of the season….

Regardless of terminology I don’t see why the club should be signing wingers/forwards in January to cover for two away on temporary international duty, Encisco (now back) and Solly who will return at some point soon you would imagine. In midfield we were never going to buy like for like with MacAllister and Caicedo. That’s not the model and they themselves weren’t bought as finished products.

Exactly, and hopefully Mitoma will be back in time for Wembley and Dublin 👍

I think it has more to do with familiarity of our patterns of play.
the kids are more ready to play with the first team than new signees.
