After tonight's performance you have to wonder. On the one hand signing him up may encourage Knight and Henderson to stay at the Albion because they should get loads of service and therefore goals.

On the other hand, both Hart and Jones did great work tracking back, work that Kanchelskis will not be arsed to do.

If we do sign him, how would he fit into the team?

I didn't think that Jones had a very good game tonight. The K man would be class though.

I thought Jones improved as the game went on. Made a good tackle nearish the end when chasing back.

As for Kanchelskis. I don't think he is needed. Our team is very good. He would however be a very good signing. He'll have to earn his shirt though.

He'd be that lettle bit extra - a bit of class and somehting to strike fear into the hearts of teams the nation over. So long as he's fit that is. I can't believe Coppel would take him on if he wasn't though.

Emphatic yes - we need some quality and at times it wasn't always there. A player like him would have made that gypo look a total ass tonight.

Why does everyone go on about him being a right winger. There is no reason why he can't go on the left! He'll replace Jones whilst he's suspended.

I think we do need him....we need a good squad, not a good 12 or 13 players... He would be an asset even if short term. Plus the competition for places may bring out the best in a few of them.

If Kanchelskis does sign for three months - thats effrctively just another loan. Shop window for other clubs, if he doesnt stay beyond that (which i doubt he will) what was the point in having him?
He needs to be on at least a years deal surely?

AK will be best playing on the left for us.

He'll be dangerous cutting in, and with his vision will put through balls in for Henderson (or Mcphee) & Knight. This is something we're missing at the moment and would add something to us.

Harty will continue down the right, chasing everything and getting balls across for the 2 front men.

I imagine that bringing in Kanchelskis would use a significant part of the wages budget Coppell has got at his disposal.

I wonder if he has sufficient money to keep both Knight and Kanchelskis at the club for the rest of the season? It could be a case of either / or...

because he is 34. he has lost a lot of pace, he will get kicked around.

u cant put a square peg in a round hole. he is a right winger, always will be- they're aint many players who can play either flank.

Don't know how good Kanchelskis is these days.
He could probably do a job for us but I think its Jones on the left that's the real weak link.

We could really have done with signing Hunt from Brentford.

Play AK through the middle in a 3 5 2 as the raiding midfielder. He can dribble and shoot and will win free kicks and penalties, as well as being able to see the right pass at the right time.
He's played consistently at a much higher standard and even if he has lost some pace, his understanding and vision will be of phenomenal benefit.

He's now officially old, slow and fat. I reckon he would be a good supersub though, would terrorise defences for 15 minutes at a time!
