Just a thought, but how will these guys manage to fit their names on the back of the shirts? They will have to start going down the sleeves!

Yes but often they just put a shortened version of their names on the back.

Van Hooijdonk is v. Hooydonk
Van Nistelrooy is v. Nistelrooy
Brazilians (even Pele) use a shortened version of their full names

And of course our very own Fat Useless Pie Munching Waste Of Money shortens rather neatly to "Butters" - not that this has helped sales of his name in the club shop in any way.
